Aquatica, the new water park opened by Anheuser-Busch in March of 2008, has a little something for everyone in the family. From rides and kid’s areas to one-of-a-kind attractions that feature a unique look at a dolphin’s habitat, Aquatica has attractions that span every age level as well as every level of excitement, from the tame to the ultimate in thrill-seeking adventure. Inspired by the South Seas and the animals who call it home, a number of different characters will guide you around the park to the following attractions:
Dolphin Plunge – The most popular attraction at Aquatica, this one-of-a-kind ride is the highlight of any visitor’s day at the park. Guests plunge through two side-by-side 250-foot-long enclosed underwater tubes that take you through a Commerson’s dolphin habitat, giving you the feeling that you are swimming right alongside these beautiful creatures.
Whanua Way – Another one of the most popular attractions, Whanua Way is a quadruple slide tower that lets you and another guest venture down one of the four slides in inner tubes together.
Loggerhead Lane – Every water park has a lazy river, and Aquatica is no different. On this ride, however, riders will get to relax as you float through waterfalls and pass by exotics birds and underwater worlds of tropical fish while also getting an up-close view of Commersons’s dolphins at the Dolphin Plunge attraction.
Tassie’s Twisters – This ride takes a totally new twist on the lazy river. From Loggerhead Lane, take the center island up to the tower and climb your way to Tassie’s Twisters, which is a series of tubes that shoot you into a giant bowl where you will spin around a number of times before finally ending right back into the lazy river where you began!
Roa’s Rapids – Roar through high tides and past gushing geysers on this attraction in which guests race along an action-packed river ride through the white waters of Aquatica.
Walhalla Wave – This attraction is one for the entire family. A six-story maze of twists, turns and tunnels await you before you plunge back into daylight.
HooRoo Run – This tube ride shares a tube lift with the Walhalla Wave, meaning that you don’t have to lug your raft to the top with you after you plunge over an edge and experience a thrilling trip back down to the bottom.
Walkabout Waters – Another area of the park for children, Walkabout Waters is the largest interactive play area in the park. Spanning more than 15,000 feet, this whimsical area features a 60-foot rain fortress that is bursting with color and many interactive activities that will keep kids – and adults – occupied for hours.
Taumata Racer – Considered the biggest thrill ride in the park, this mat ride pits you against seven other riders as you all plunge headfirst down one of the steepest slopes around. The faint of heart won’t enjoy this attraction, but highly competitive thrill seekers will!
Kata’s Kookaburra Cove – This play area is for kids only! With a beginner’s slide, water spouts and other water attractions for all of the little ones, kids (especially those 48 inches and under, which is the height limit for these rides) can get a small taste of the big-time fun at Aquatica.
Cutback Cove – One of the two side-by-side wave pools, Cutback Cove is the high-action option for thrill seekers. At this wave pool, you will find large waves that continue to break throughout the entire day.
Big Surf Shores – Don’t be fooled by its name – located adjacent to Cutback Cove, Big Surf Shores is a wave pool that has intermittent waves throughout the day, meaning that you could indeed see big surf… followed by little or no surf!
