Best Childrens Activities at Disney

The Walt Disney World Resort has a plethora of attractions that are geared towards children at the four Walt Disney World resort theme parks, but there are even more children’s activities outside of the theme parks that parents can take advantage of during their down time on vacation. To find out more about these low-cost and fun activities that the whole family will enjoy, keep reading below!

Some of the best children’s activities outside of the theme parks at Disney won’t make a dent in your wallet – in fact, they are free! If you are a guest at a Walt Disney World Resort, be sure to check with your Disney hotel, as many of the resorts on property have an array of activities every day of the week that are complimentary to guests, such as arts and crafts, pool games, board games and more! Another free activity for all Walt Disney World Resort guests is located at the Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds – each evening, guests gather around a campfire for a sing-along, marshmallow roast and to watch a Disney feature film which is projected onto a portable movie screen that is brought out beside the campfire. One of the most popular activities, and another benefit to Walt Disney World Resort guests, is the use of the resort pools, which is a big draw for families with the year-round heat in Central Florida. The pools at the Disney resorts are in many cases remarkable, with many resorts having one feature pool complete with zero entry depths, waterfalls, slides and more, along with many smaller “quiet pools” located throughout the resorts as well.

While all of the above activities are free, there are many more recreational activities for kids that are cost effective for families, many of which originate at the Walt Disney World hotels as well. Many of the resorts are located on waterways and lakes, meaning that guests can enjoy a leisurely afternoon on a pontoon boat or on a Sea Raycer boat. The best place to take out these two-seater Sea Raycer boats is on the Seven Seas Lagoon at any of the Magic Kingdom Park Resorts (Disney Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge or at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campgrounds). A half hour on one of these boats will cost you around , but they are perfect for a parent and small child (maximum capacity is 320 pounds for these small watercraft) and offer stunning views of the Magic Kingdom Park and all of these picturesque resorts from either the Seven Seas Lagoon or the adjacent Bay Lake.

From many of these same resorts, fishing excursions and pirate cruises can also be booked for families. All Walt Disney World Resort Guided Fishing Excursions depart from many of these same marinas listed above and include an experienced fishing guide, rod and reel, tackle, artificial and live bait, beverages and a one-year BASS membership. On a pirate’s cruise, you and your family can search for buried treasure on a two-hour supervised trip to a deserted island in the middle of the Seven Seas Lagoon. While these cruises depart from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, there are similar pirate’s cruises at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort as well as Disney’s Yacht Club.

All of these activities listed above are only the tip of the iceberg – children also enjoy the two miniature golf courses at Disney, all of the character dining meals at the Disney resorts and theme parks, and much more. But all of that doesn’t even begin to touch all of the attractions and activities going on inside the four theme parks and two water parks at Walt Disney World. But unlike the activities listed above, you will have to have theme park tickets to access all of the fun inside these parks, and you are at the perfect place to get these tickets! At OrlandoFunTickets.com, you can purchase discounted theme park tickets to all of the top attractions in Central Florida, including Disney, Universal, Sea World, local dinner shows and many more area attractions!
