Best Thrill Rides and Attractions

SeaWorld Orlando has some of the best thrill rides and attractions of any of the theme park destinations in Central Florida. From one of the best rides in town, Kraken, to some of the best shows and animal interactions in all of the world, SeaWorld Orlando has plenty of fun-filled attractions that are suitable for the entire family.

As mentioned above, Kraken is one of the best thrill rides in all of Orlando and has some unique characteristics that separate it from its local competitors. Kraken, which opened in the summer of 2000, is named after a massive, mythological, underwater beast that Poseidon kept caged. This coaster is billed as the monster of all roller coasters because it is the tallest and only floorless roller coaster in Orlando. With heights of more than 140 feet and speeds reaching 65 mph, this coaster turns you upside down a total of seven times and goes underground three times during this 3-minute, 39 second thrill ride. Please note, however, that there is a 54 inch height requirement to enjoy this attraction.

When it comes to shows, SeaWorld Orlando also goes above and beyond. SeaWorld’s biggest attraction, literally, is Shamu the killer whale, who stars in Believe during the day and Shamu Rocks at night (during the summer only). Believe is a captivating and visually stunning new show that allows fans to get a glimpse into what it is like to work with these magical creatures. Shamu Rocks is a rock n’ roll concert like no other, combining improvisational movements of killer whales with music remixed from the hottest stars today. Shamu and a team of skilled trainers push the limits in the water, while 20-foot wide rotating LED screens set the stage for a colossal multimedia presentation and nearly 100 speakers throughout the stadium provide an optimal rock n’ roll surround sound experience.

Shamu, however, is not the only show worth seeing at SeaWorld Orlando. If you want to combine the worlds of comedy and animal training, be sure to check out Clyde and Seamore Take Pirate Island. This show features a sensational tale of lost loot, pirate plunder and misadventure on the high seas. A SeaWorld Orlando animal trainer and his first mate, Clyde the sea lion, pal around during this new sea lion and otter show. SeaWorld's comical flippered family teams up on the most elaborate and realistic sea lion set ever built to offer more guest interaction and introduce the newest cast member - a harbor seal - in this hilarious show that is a real can’t-miss attraction.
