Block Party Bash
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is all about bringing action and thrills right to the forefront of guests at the Walt Disney World Resort, and with some of the best rides on property, stunt shows that demonstrate behind-the-scenes filmmaking techniques and live stage shows that are meant to entertain the whole family, there is no doubt that this theme park is where all of the action takes place! That reputation was certainly taken into account when the Block Party Bash was added to Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ lineup in March of 2008; this high-action afternoon parade may have originated in Disney’s California Adventure theme park, but it most certainly fits right into the landscape of the park.
The Block Party Bash succeeded the Disney Stars and Motor Cars Parade at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but these two don’t even compare to one another! While the former parade featured Disney characters in cars and on floats, resembling what one would think of as a normal parade, the Block Party Bash is anything but ordinary! In fact, it was first viewed as more of a mobile stage show than a parade, and still today it reigns as being one of the most unique and interactive parades in Disney history, giving guests the opportunity to be connected and right there in the action while also displaying a new type of show that has certainly never existed before at the Walt Disney World Resort.
This new daily spectacle combines almost 30 Disney-Pixar characters from movies like “Toy Story,” Monsters, Inc.,” “A Bug’s Life” and “The Incredibles” and includes elaborate floats, trampoline units, aerial acrobatics and upbeat music! Disney’s Block Party Bash also doubles as an interactive street party, with choreographed performance stops along the route where dancers, acrobats, performers on jumping stilts, electric scooters and your favorite Disney-Pixar characters mesmerize the crowd. For some of the best seats in the house, situate yourself along the parade route down Hollywood Boulevard or in front of Mickey’s sorcerer hat at the front of the park, but be sure to allow yourself ample time to ensure you get a view from the front!
The Block Party Bash was brought to Disney’s Hollywood Studios as part of the Year of a Million Dreams celebration, which is going on through the end of 2008 at the entire Walt Disney World Resort. This celebration is the latest in a line of year-long events at the Walt Disney World Resort, and it centers on guests’ dreams coming true and the Disney Cast Members that make magic for guests every day.
