The Disney Water Park battle!!!
Opened in 1989, Typhoon Lagoon is a far cry from its icy neighbor. In keeping with Disney tradition, there is a detailed story to accompany the unique park. Long ago a wild storm over the sea picked up surfboards, fishing gear, and other bits and pieces of a small tropical town and wreaked havoc. All that was left after the storm was a water park, Typhoon Lagoon.
Blizzard Beach is based on the Disney legend that long ago there was a freak snowstorm in Florida. Some entrepreneurs immediately built a ski resort on a plot of land. Well, it didn’t take long before Florida heated back up again and the snow began to melt. Just when the owners thought the resort was a bust they heard a loud “YAHOO!” coming from one of the slopes. It turned out to be an alligator sliding down a slope like a water slide. “Ice Gator” has been Blizzard Beach’s mascot ever since.
