Halloween Horror Nights Coming Soon!!
With fall quickly approaching, the summer rush at all of the Central Florida attractions will soon die down. But with a new season brings a whole new reason to visit one of the theme parks, the Universal Orlando Resort – and that reason is Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando.
Halloween Horror Nights is one of the largest themed celebratalloions in any theme park in the country. In its 17th year of existence, the event was Amusement Today’s 2006 Golden Ticket Award winner for Best Halloween Event, and it draws hundreds of thousands of horror fans from around the globe annually to Universal Orlando. Halloween Horror Nights run on select days in September through the first weekend of November, and the event requires an additional ticket to access, as it takes places after the park closes at night. However, those who purchase a regular admission ticket to Universal Orlando during the day can receive a special discounted rate, or, as they call it, a Stay and Scream Upgrade. Visitors who partake in the event can expect to encounter haunted houses, intense scare zones and an all-new “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure” containing parodies from TV, movies, music and more.
This year at Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights, the theme for the experience will be a new one – the Carnival of Carnage. This new dark carnival is coming in just for this special event, as the new Ringmaster is bringing together the most diabolical combination of sinister sideshows, a midway of carnage and maniacal movie madmen that are straight from the silver screen. The dates for the event this year include: Sept. 28-29, October 4-7, 11-14, 18-21, 24-28, 31 and November 1-3.
Halloween Horror Nights is not for the faint of heart, as there are actual screams and scares in all of the attractions. For this reason, this special event may be too young for children. And, to help decipher who is there to entertain and who is there to be entertained, no costumes or masks are allowed inside the park.
You can expect to pay $64.95 per night at Halloween Horror Nights, or you can purchase the Frequent Fear Pass, which allows you access every Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday of the event, along with the first Friday and Saturday and Halloween night as well, all for the same price ($64.95) as a one-night admission. As with most theme parks, there are special discounts for Florida residents and annual passholders, as well as special “RIP” Tours that can be booked.
