Resort Pools at Disney!!
But while Orlando Fun Tickets may get you into the theme parks at the Walt Disney World Resort at a reduced price, we also want to give you the best possible information about everything else to see and do at Disney to make your vacation the best it can be. And, we also know that where you stay while on vacation is just as important as what you do while on vacation. While many factors may help you decide on what resort you will stay at during your time here in Orlando, one thing you may want to take into consideration, especially if you have small children, is the pools at the Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Each pool, along with each resort, has unique theming and its own personality that make it appealing to the guests of the resorts.
The best pool on property has to be at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort. This 2 ½ acre water play area is named Stormalong Bay and features a life-size ship with an accompanying slide (the best themed slide at Walt Disney World by a mile), a sandy lagoon and three connecting pools that hold almost 800,00 gallons of water and would be a mile long if you stretched them out. This ship sits on the opposite side of a large sidewalk from the pool, meaning that the slide actually goes overtop of guests walking below and winds more than 150 feet before coming to an end in the adjacent pool. Stormalong Bay also features a smaller slide for youngsters, a sand beach that is great for building sandcastles, and a section of the pool also has a sand bottom. Because this pool is so popular, it is often restricted for guests staying just at these resorts, so beware of that if you are trying to pool hop on a hot day. This recreation area may also be a bit of a distraction for kids who won’t ever want to leave!
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort also has a great slide for family fun. This slide is in the midst of a 46-foot Mayan pyramid and is at one of the most picturesque pools at any of the Walt Disney World Resort pools. Disney’s Polynesian Resort also has a winding, twisting slide as well, but this one is in the middle of a volcano that sits to the side of the zero-entry pool right outside the hotel’s main lobby. This slide is longer than it looks and is fun for kids of any age (you will even find many adults going down it as well!). Close by Disney’s Polynesian Resort is Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. While its main pool does not have a waterslide, it does offer a 27-foot tall stone mountain with a waterfall that cascades down into the pool. Cabanas and hammocks on the beach are nearby as well, making this serene zero-entry pool a favorite among guests at this resort as well.
Other pools of note at Walt Disney World include a carnival-themed pool at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, a huge 9,000 square foot pool with a view of the African savannah at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, a swimming pool alongside a gushing geyser at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and a Mardi Gras themed pool at Disney’s
Port Orleans French Quarter. Disney’s value resorts also get into the theming action as well. For example, you might find a pool shaped like a guitar at Disney’s All-Star Music hotel or a baseball diamond pool at Disney’s All-Star Sports, among many others.
But no matter what Disney resort you are staying at, you are sure to find a swimming pool that meets your (and your child’s) fancy. In addition to the pools described above, each resort also has several “quiet” pools located throughout the resort’s grounds to give some families the option of swimming in a less congested area.
We here at Orlando Fun Tickets hope your next Disney vacation is a splash! And don’t forget to purchase your discounted Walt Disney World tickets right here – for those days when you can actually drag your kid away from the pool!
