The Nightmare Before Christmas

The movie was created by genius Tim Burton. It was reportedly based off of a poem he wrote while working as a Disney animator in the 1980’s. The stop motion film featured incredible visuals and a score by Danny Elfman (who also provided Jack’s singing voice!) The most popular songs, including “Sally’s Song,” were all covered by famous bands like Marilyn Manson and Evanescence in a CD that came out a few years ago to celebrate one of the movie’s anniversaries. Well this week marks The Nightmare Before Christmas’ 16th anniversary!
Since 2006, Disney has been re-releasing the film in theatres for a limited time only during the Halloween season in Disney Digital 3D. Fans of the massively popular film get to relive the magic every time and sing along with their favorite songs again. Over in Disneyland, The Haunted Mansion gets a The Nightmare Before Christmas makeover when Jack, Sally, Oogie and friends all take over the fun ghost-themed ride. If seeing the movie in theatres again isn’t enough for you then you definitely need to check out some discount Disney tickets to get to the parks and for all of The Nightmare Before Christmas merchandise and activities in person! We’re sure there will be plenty of great “Nightmare” activities and celebrations to come.
