Stay Healthy at the Theme Parks

Over at the Walt Disney World Resort, the park has installed 200,000 extra hand sanitation dispensers. Disney cast members have received special hygiene training and have all received flu shots to make sure they remain healthy while helping you with any needs you might have at the Magic Kingdom and other Walt Disney parks.
Michael Hankins, the chief physician at the Walt Disney World Resort, talked to the Mail Online about Disney’s preventive measures: “Disney parks maintain rigorous standards of hygiene and cleanliness for our cast members and guests…Hand washing and other basic hygiene steps, as recommended by the C.D.C [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention], remain extremely effective ways to combat seasonal flu whether at school, on the playground or visiting a theme park.”
You can stay clean at the parks as well. If you feel a cough coming on or have a cold, wear a surgical mask to prevent the airborne transfer of germs. Use paper towel to grab the handles and doorknobs in bathrooms, where most of the germs are located. Wash your hands before and after meals, and if you can’t get to a bathroom make sure to have some Purell or sanitary wipes on hand for a quick cleanup. You can buy these for about a dollar at any drugstore. Consider keeping a handkerchief with you as well, not to blow your nose with, but to cough into so you don’t cough into your hand and spread germs. There are plenty of things you can do to keep yourself and your family healthy during your holiday vacations, so don’t let the flu put a damper on your travel plans!
