The Original Disney Princess
This week, back in 1937, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves debuted at the Carthay Circle Theatre in California. Presented by RKO Pictures and Walt Disney, it was the first full-length animated feature film in the history of motion pictures. Of course, Walt had done other animated shorts like the Silly Symphonies and Mickey Mouse cartoons, but Snow White changed Disney history forever. The American Film Institute even named Snow White and the Seven Dwarves the greatest animated film of all time. While we’re sure there are plenty of Disney fans that go to the Magic Kingdom looking for Princess Aurora and Cinderella merchandise instead of Snow White, you can’t ignore the fact that it was Snow White that started it all!
When you head to the Walt Disney World Resort you can go to the Magic Kingdom and ride Snow White’s Scary Adventures, a “dark ride” that focuses on Snow White’s journey to happiness with her Prince Charming. You can also meet Prince Charming and Snow White at various picture spots throughout the park. It’s a bit harder to find the Seven Dwarves running around, but if you go to special events like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, you have a better chance of seeing them! You can also catch all of your favorite characters in the various parades at the parks.
If you want to commemorate the first Disney Princess and the release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, why not pick up the DVD? Better yet, check out the exclusive Blu Ray edition with special footage and behind the scenes looks! It’s a must have for any Disney fan and fans of Snow White
