Disney Dream Launching in 2011

If you love the Disney theme parks and especially love visiting the Walt Disney World Resort you might be interested in a different Disney twist: How about going on a Disney Cruise? The Disney Cruise Line has earned a great reputation for being fun for both kids and adults. With it’s own private island you can make sure you will enjoy the Disney experience surrounded by the quality in operation and service Disney establishes through all of its parks. Now, with the Disney Dream, you can get to the island in style and enjoy your trip to the Caribbean in Disney style.
The Disney Dream is the 3rd largest addition to Disney’s fleet of luxury cruise liners. It will be taking off from Port Canaveral in Florida on its maiden voyage January 23, 2011. In an official press release, Disney spoke a bit more about the Disney Dream and what guests of this great new ship can expect.
"The Disney Dream is the next generation of Disney cruise ships. Much of the thinking is really an extension of everything learned over the last 10 years, but there are several surprises. We're introducing the AquaDuck, the first on-board watercoaster ever designed. By incorporating elements from the Theme Park slides and Typhoon Lagoon's Crush 'n' Gusher technology, we configured a clear acrylic tube that thrusts Guests out over the side of the ship (150 feet above the ocean's surface). Some of the watercoaster features include traveling through the ship's forward funnel, various uphill portions, and river rapids, which provide a spectacular ocean view. It's a thrill ride that's really on par with our Park attractions."
Other great features will be scenic portholes in every room. Those under the water will have portholes with animated landscapes to make you feel like you’re at water level. The Skyline bar will have animated vistas of cities like Paris, London, and Hong Kong. With great bars for the adults, plenty of shows for kids and activities the whole family will enjoy their time on the Disney Dream Cruise ship. It’s a great way to experience the fun of the Disney parks on a different level!
