If you’ve ever wanted to know what it would be like to spend the night in Disney World’s Haunted Mansion or spend the night the way a Disney princess does, you might be in luck! According to some of Disney’s discussion forum members, Disney may be considering the possibility of adding more themed rooms to the moderate resort line-up. So get ready for a night of frights or pampering, depending on which room you prefer, as Disney takes you on a special adventure through your favorite Disney attractions! You simply won’t find this kind of excitement in any other hotel!

This idea of adding themed rooms to Disney resorts is not a new concept. In fact, just a year ago in 2009, Disney added Pirate themed rooms to Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. Due to the popularity of the Disney movie, the resort realized there was a great want for themed rooms after people’s favorite Disney movies, rides and parks. The new room proposals add the option of a ‘Royal Room’, drawing inspiration from the Disney Princess stories, and a Haunted Mansion room.

“Come spend the night with a few of the happy haunts who playing an enchanted bedroom inspired by the Haunted Mansion. Rest atop the floating Doom Buggy beds with a couple of friendly spooks and watch glow-in-the-dark, cartoon-like footsteps mysteriously appear as the evening sets in. A sliding bookcase creates a hidden passage to the bathroom and is the perfect hiding place for a hitch-hiking ghost. Oversized furnishings with curvy lines and bright colors add to the whimsy in the room. Guests will delight in finding the hidden special effects that play up the merry, rather than scary, room ambiance.”

As this is just a rumor, we’re not quite sure which resort these new themed rooms would be added to or if a whole new resort would have to be created to accommodate the unique themes. For time sake, we’re hoping Disney just re-creates a few hundred rooms that already exist so we don’t have to wait years for the opening of a new hotel. Any ideas where the renovations would take place? Any places you hope the renovations take place? Hopefully, we’ll hear more news about these room changes if and when they will happen so we can begin our Haunted or Princess vacations! Until then you can always get your fill of friendly ghosts at the Haunted Mansion ride at Magic Kingdom or spend the day in the presence of royalty as several of Disney’s most famous princesses roam the four parks.
