Wizarding World Forbidden Journey Reaches Million Riders
In just two months Universal Orlando’s newest attraction, Wizarding World of Harry Potter has already reached more milestones and broken more records than any other attraction at the popular Orlando theme park. It was recently reported that Universal Orlando has experienced the first increase in attendance in two years, which can be attributed in large part to the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter. But that’s not the only exciting news to hit the park, this week Universal announced that there have already been one million riders to experience Wizarding World’s Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey roller coaster ride!
The attraction officially opened on June 18 at Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park and has been making history ever since.
Forbidden Journey marks the fastest climb to the one million rider mark for Universal Orlando Resort.
The previous record was held by The Simpsons Ride, also at Universal Studios. That attraction opened in 2008 and also took about two months to reach one million riders.
Housed within Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Forbidden Journey is one of the crown jewels of the park’s new Wizarding World of Harry Potter area.
So far one million guests have enjoyed viewing the towering gates and familiar passageways and corridors of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry as they wait to soar above the castle grounds and join Harry Potter himself and his friends on an unforgettable thrilling adventure. Guests will come face to face with an array of magical creatures! Using groundbreaking, state-of-the-art technology, the Forbidden Journey is a one of a kind ride experience.
If roller coaster thrill rides aren’t for you, there’s plenty more to see and experience at Wizarding World of Harry Potter including shopping! See some of Hogwarts confiscated goods and purchase souvenirs such as Hogwarts clothing and other gifts at Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods. Or satisfy your sweet tooth with acid pops, exploding bon bons, chocolate frogs and more at Honeydukes. You can even try out the infamous butterbeer at Three Broomsticks, a rustic tavern right inside Hogsmeade!
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is certainly an attraction worth seeing! Just ask the one million guests who have already experienced Harry Potter’s Forbidden Journey, and that’s just counting the people who rode the ride! Imagine how many people have already visited the attraction! Make sure you get to Universal and Islands of Adventure sometime soon. With part one of the newest Harry Potter movie not hitting theaters until November and part two not even coming out until 2011, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is the perfect way to get your fill of Hogsmeade and Hogwarts now!
