New Show Comes to Busch Gardens Tampa
Busch Gardens has certainly been busy as we enter into the fall season. With the recent release of the Howl-O-Scream theme and now an announcement that a new show will be replacing “Katonga”, the Orlando theme park is bustling with exciting news!
Move over Katonga, Busch Gardens is saying goodbye to the ice-skating show and welcoming a new brand of entertainment sure to knock your socks off! Straight from Broadway, Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy is a groundbreaking theatrical, acrobatic and musical adventure that stunned Broadway and is about to do the same at the roller coaster theme park!
According to Broadway World “More than 50 million fans worldwide have attended a Cirque Dreams show in the past decade. Critics and audiences alike have praised Cirque Dreams shows as, ‘The grandest circus spectacle east of Vegas;” New York Magazine, ‘A Whiz-bang family spectacle;’ Los Angeles Times and ‘brilliantly conceived entertainment for multiple generations” Chicago tribune. In 2008, Cirque Dreams made Broadway history by presenting Goldberg’s Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy at the Broadway Theatre, the first and only show of its kind to ever perform on Broadway. A new year round version of the show will open December 1, 2010 at Busch Gardens Tampa.”
Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy is an exotic encounter inspired by nature’s unpredictable creations that are brought to life by an international cast of soaring aerialists, spine-bending contortionists, acrobats, jugglers and musicians. Along with the astounding feats performed in this show, the costumes themselves are just as incredible and have even been nominated for an American Theatre Wing Best Costume Design Award. Striking visual effects as well as explosive athleticism like soaring aerial butterflies, balancing giraffes, gigantic flowers, trees and kings of the jungle, make Cirque Dreams world class entertainment perfect for all ages!
For those of you who love Katonga, you still have few more weeks to watch the show whirl and dance its way over the ice. But coming in December, get ready for a Broadway style performance you won’t find anywhere but at Busch Gardens! We’re certainly looking forward to the change and we hope you enjoy this production as much as we do!
Until then, you may want to gear up for Howl-O-Scream set to rock Busch Gardens each Thursday, Friday and Saturday night from September 30 to Halloween night. The theme has been revealed and Rock seems to be taking over the park for the Halloween event. We’re still not 100% sure what that means but we’ll just have to wait like everybody else to see what Busch Gardens has in store. But no matter what it is, we’re pretty confident the scares and screams will be just as powerful as they have been in previous years!
