A Guide to Holidays in Orlando

Many of you may be planning a last minute trip to one of Orlando’s many theme parks this Christmas Eve and the week after Christmas. And if you are, you’re not alone. The week leading up to Christmas until Jan. 1 is generally one of the busiest times of the year, with the week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve being especially hectic. In fact, many Disney-centric websites and resources indicate that this is the busiest time of the year. Fred Hazelton, statistician for TouringPlans.com and The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, reports that while average peak wait times across Walt Disney World® are 23 minutes on the slowest days of the year, those same average peak wait times are 46 minutes during Christmas break.

But don’t let those numbers deter you from visiting Walt Disney World® or any other Orlando theme park this holiday season. If you are planning a trip to any of Orlando’s many theme parks here are a few quick tips to help you navigate the crowds and get the most out of your experience:

Arrive at the Parks When They Open. It’s a no-brainer but if you want to enjoy everything these parks have to offer for the season, you have to beat the masses. Disney® theme parks are least busy during the first couple of hours they’re open, and if you devise a plan of attack you can experience a lot during these first few hours.

Utilize Disney’s® FASTPASS. Disney’s® complimentary FASTPASS allows guests to obtain a paper pass for select attractions that saves their place in line for an attraction while they enjoy other attractions throughout the park. This can mean the difference between a 10-minute wait in line and a 180-minute wait during the Christmas season. That’s a significant difference so make sure you take advantage!

Don’t Forget To Check Out the Christmas Entertainment. The good news: You don’t have to pay extra for most of Orlando theme park’s holiday events. The bad news: Intense crowds! To ensure a good viewing location in Christmas parade spots like Magic Kingdom™ and Animal Kingdom™ as well as holiday fireworks at Epcot™ and Magic Kingdom™ you may have to stake out a spot well in advance. The parades, fireworks and festive lights are all worth the extra planning and crowds so make sure you stick around to experience all of them.

If you still need Walt Disney World®, SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Orlando or Busch Gardens’ tickets you can find theme right here on OrlandoFunTickets.com.

From everybody at OrlandoFunTickets.com have a Merry Christmas and we’ll be back here on Tuesday with plenty of Orlando theme park New Year’s Eve events to help you ring in the New Year.
