SeaWorld Releases Manatees
A new attraction is coming to Orlando this spring that will take guests on an underwater adventure unlike any other. If you thought swimming with dolphins was exciting, wait until you see what’s coming to SeaWorld Orlando’s sister park Discovery Cove.
The all-new Freshwater Oasis will give guests the opportunity to not only swim with dolphins, but to experience other hands-on animal encounters including hand-feeding tropical birds in a free-flight aviary, snorkeling among thousands of colorful fish and sting rays as well as relaxing on gorgeous beaches.
Designed with a rainforest canopy above and sparkling clear springs below, Freshwater Oasis is a perfect fit within Discovery Cove’s tropical atmosphere. Fitting into the tropical atmosphere are some of the world’s most exotic animals. Guests will have the opportunity to wade through a rainforest spring and interact with the small marmoset monkeys as they play in the canopies above. You’ll even enter a faux sinkhole and swim alongside playful Asian river otters. All water at Freshwater Oasis is waist-deep level or shallower making it perfect for children.
After learning and playing with these tropical creatures, guests can relax on secluded, private beaches and enjoy a drink at the swim-up lounge dubbed Flooded Terrace.
The area takes the place of the previous saltwater reef, which closed when Discovery Cove recently opened its new Grand Reef. No word yet on when exactly the Freshwater Oasis will captivate Discovery Cove and its guests but check back often for updated news.
In the meantime, you can enjoy SeaWorld Orlando and Discovery Cove’s current attractions with discounted tickets right here on OrlandoFunTickets.com.
Surrounded by lush landscape, winding rivers and white-sand beaches, there’s no shortage of excitement at Discovery Cove. And this past June the theme park added a little snorkeling to its aquatic repertoire. The new Grand Reef allows guests to seek discoveries along the water’s edge or cross a bridge to see sharks swimming below. You can even make friends with the dolphins during a Dolphin Swim Experience. Come nose to nose with bottlenose dolphins, learn about dolphin behavior and even take an exciting dorsal fin ride back to shore!
Freshwater Oasis is included in regular Discovery Cove admission but make sure you buy your tickets now. The Orlando theme park is limited to only 1,000 guests per day.
SeaWorld’s Freshwater Oasis is just one of three new attractions coming to SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment over the next two years. SeaWorld Orlando will welcome a new sea turtle attraction featuring a 3D/360-degree dome in Turtle Trek. Turtle Trek will also open this spring, while Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin will replace the existing penguin encounter at SeaWorld in 2013. Stay tuned for opening dates on Freshwater Oasis and other SeaWorld Orlando expansion news.
