Head Into the Jungle at Disneys Animal Kingdom

It’s a jungle out there and for the first time in theme park history you can join that jungle during Walt Disney World’s ® Wild Africa Trek at Disney’s Animal Kingdom ®! Guests on the three hour privately guided tour will travel deep into the Pangani Forest and experience the exotic wildlife species they normally see during the Kilimanjaro Safari, except you’ll be on foot making for a much more personal experience.
Before the tour begins, adventurers are fitted with a vest and gear. Guests should be aware that unlike the comfort of the vehicle during the Kilimanjaro Safaris, the Wild Africa Trek will take you over some pretty rough terrain, including rope bridges and woodsy trails where you’ll step over stumps and branches. But that’s all a part of why it’s so exciting!
As you dip and duck your way through the “African” terrain your tour guide will be pointing out some things they find along the way such as animal skulls. Once your group reaches the riverbank, you’ll get the rare opportunity to see hippos, just 10 feet below. Then it’s time for those rope bridges! Take a rickety walk over the rope bridge and make sure you DO look down to see several enormous crocodiles hanging out below.
After the on-foot portion of the trek, you’ll lose the vest and gear and board a specially designed safari truck to finish out your African adventure. The truck will take you down many of the same roads as Kilimanjaro Safaris including some off-road areas where you’ll take in gorgeous views of the Harambe Reserve’s landscape and wildlife.
Once off road, guests will take a 30-minute rest break to relax, have lunch and look over the savannah. Lunch will include pita bread, prosciutto, dried beef, salmon roll with cream cheese on top of a jicama and cucumber salad, yogurt with granola, brie, melon and even an edible orchid all in unique tins to make the adventure even more authentic. Binoculars are provided at the stop and on the truck for some amazing close-ups of the animals.
To document this once-in-a-lifetime experience a Disney ® photographer will capture your every move as you explore the Savannah and its wildlife. And best of all the photographs are included in the Wild Africa Trek price!
And it’s all for a good cause! A portion of the trek price will be donated to a conservation effort of your choice at the return of your excursion into the Harambe Wildlife Reserve.
Keep in mind Wild Africa Trek is not included in regular theme park admission but that’s ok because you can find Wild Africa Trek tickets right here on OrlandoFunTickets.com.
