Celebrate Memorial Day at Orlando Theme Parks
It’s known as the unofficial start of summer. And this Memorial Day Weekend, Orlando theme parks are welcoming the start of the season with some incredible parades, fireworks, water parks and deals that’ll keep you enjoying some fun in the sun all weekend long.
Walt Disney World ®:
Beginning Friday, May 25 “The Magic, the Memories and You!” castle-projection show at Magic Kingdom ® will be adding some new summer fun sequences to help you get into the summer spirit. Watch for a beach-inspired “Phineas & Ferb” sequence that turns Cinderella Castle into a giant sand-castle, as well as some undersea and jungle adventures. The show precedes the incredible fireworks display “Wishes”, which is scheduled for 10 p.m. this Friday. Magic Kingdom ® will be open from 9: 00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Friday, May 25 and 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 26. On Sunday, May 27, Magic Kingdom ® will offer their extended Extra Magic Hours from 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios ™, this Memorial Day Weekend marks the second round of the popular Star Wars Weekends. Guests to the annual event can experience the force with Star Wars actors from the film saga and animated series including Ray Park (Darth Maul in “Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace”), Andy Secombe (voice of Watto in “Phantom Menace”) and Tom Kane, the voice of Yoda in the animated TV series “Star Wars: Clone Wars.” Star Wars Weekends is included in regular theme-park admission. Disney’s Hollywood Studios ™ will be open 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Friday through Monday with Extra Magic Hours on Memorial Day from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
If you’re planning on spending the entire Memorial Day Weekend at the most magical place on Earth you might want to look into the Magic Your Way Park Hopper Tickets to ensure you get to experience all of Disney’s ® magic.
Legoland Florida ®:
Legoland Florida will be making a splash this Memorial Day Weekend when they open the much-anticipated water park on Saturday, May 26. Just in time for the busy and hot months of summer the water park will include a lazy river, water playground, slides and a gentle-wave pool for Legoland’s younger demographic. Legoland water park hours are 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Gain access to the Legoland water park with the Legoland plus water park combo ticket.
Universal Orlando ®:
Gain some extra hours of Universal’s Islands of Adventure ® this Memorial Day Weekend with the park closing at 9pm on Friday and 10pm on Saturday and Sunday. Our suggestion is to use that extra time to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter a little while longer. And at Universal Studios ®, check out the new Superstar Parade featuring characters from Despacable Me, Spongebob SquarePants, HOP, Dora the Explorer, and Go Diego Go. Plus, don’t forget to end your night with the Universal’s new Cinematic Spectacular: 100 Years of Movie Memories.
