Food For Thought Be Our Guest Restaurant
Do you remember the scene in Disney’s ® “Beauty and the Beast” where Belle goes in search of food at Beast’s Castle only to be greeted by Lumiere, Mrs. Potts, Cogsworth and a tempting array of meals as they danced before her eyes? Well soon, you too can experience all of the delicious dishes and decadent desserts that made your mouth water while watching that scene at the new Be Our Guest Restaurant in the expanded Fantasyland area of Magic Kingdom ®.
The new Be Our Guest Restaurant, located in the “Beauty and the Beast” area of Fantasyland promises to give guests the opportunity to dine with the familiar characters and surroundings, which include those gorgeous chandeliers that hang from the ceiling of Beast’s Castle while also tasting some of the best French cuisine in all of Walt Disney World ®.
While the restaurant’s debut is still months away, Chef Deardorff has been revealing a few of the tasty dishes guests will be able to enjoy at the new restaurant. Much like other Disney ® restaurants, lunch will be quick service with activated terminals that make ordering simple and easy. And again, just like other Disney ® restaurants guests will be able to order sandwiches, salads and wraps, except at Be Our Guest Restaurant, all dishes will come with a twist that is sure to transport you back to the French setting of “Beauty and the Beast.” Think French bistro.
Lunch options will include tuna Nicoise salad and a Croque Monsieur sandwich with carved ham, Gruyere cheese, béchamel and pommes frites (otherwise known as French fries); carved turkey on a warm baguette with Dijon mayonnaise; or the grilled steak sandwich with garlic butter spread.
And just like in the film, dinner at Be Our Guest Restaurant will be a bit fancier with real table service and some of the most diverse dishes in the park. In fact you’ll feel like you’re actually in Paris as you dine on such meals as a thyme-scented pork rack chop with au gratin pasta, rotisserie rock hen with roasted fingerling potatoes, pan-seared salmon in leek fondue, grilled strip steak with pommes frites, sautéed shrimp and scallops with veggies in puff pastry with creamy lobster sauce and so much more. Desserts include chocolate cream puff, passion fruit cream puff and a variety of different cupcakes including strawberry cream cheese and triple chocolate.
Is your mouth watering yet? If so you can make reservations beginning in late August but you’ll have to wait until the holidays to take a bite out of Be Our Guest Restaurant.
