Food for Thought Epcot International Food Wine Festival
The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival at Walt Disney World ®, which was recently named one of the Best Food and Wine Festivals by the Travel Channel, is now taking guests on a culinary adventure across 6 continents and through more than 30 international marketplaces for tapas-sized portions that are sure to make your mouth water. And this year, the festival has added two new marketplaces you don’t want to miss!
For the first time in the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival history, the Walt Disney World ® event has introduced a Vegan Marketplace booth called TERRA. The vegan-only area will include such dishes as Trickan Chicken Curry with Basmati Rice Curry with Basmati Rice and Chili Colorado with House Made Chips and Cashew Cheese. For dessert guests can indulge in Chocolate Cake with Passion Fruit Sorbet and Coconut Foam. Beverages will include Paul Dolan Sauvignon Blanc, Paul Dolan Pinot Noir and Silk Berry Smoothie.
This year’s festival also includes an area filled with the many tastes Florida has become famous far in the Florida Local Marketplace. This marketplace will feature such delicious dishes as White Corn Arepas with Mangalitsa Pork Rillette and Zellwood Sweet Corn Salad; Florida Shrimp Ceviche with Fire Roasted Vegetables, Fried Plantains and Cilantro; Florida Beer Company Florida Lager; Florida Beer Company Key West Southernmost Wheat; Florida Orange Grove Key Limen and Florida Orange Grove Hurricane Class 5, Florida White Sangria.
In addition to TERRA and the Florida Local Marketplace guests can travel the world with food, drinks and dessert from Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Caribbean, China, France, Germany, Greece, Hawaii, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico Morocco, New Zealand, Poland, Scandinavia, Singapore, South Africa and South Korea as well as the Hops & Barley, cheese, dessert & champagne, and craft beer stations. Traditional crafts from several countries line the promenade showcase for a perfect pairing of fun and food!
And for guests who want to do more than just eat the delicious fare there are plenty of special festival experiences to educate you on the foods you taste as well as how to cook some of the dishes. Some of the experiences include the Chocolate Experience: From the Bean to the Bar Hosted by Ghirardelli Chocolate Company; Discussions with Bethenny Frankel, Skinnygirl, Hosted by Beam Inc.; The Watermelon Patch Hosted by The National Watermelon Promotion Board; Authentic Taste Seminars Hosted by HGTV; Bottle Signings and so much more. The annual culinary event runs now through November 12 and is included in regular Epcot ® admission but please keep in mind the food and beverage offerings and experiences will cost an additional price.
