For many the words “theme park” may conjure up images of roller coasters, costumed characters, parades, incredible shows and lots and lots of memories. What’s usually not included in those images is food. If you do think of food when the words “theme park” are mentioned you probably see greasy menu options, long lines at quick-service restaurants and less-than-intimate seating. Fortunately, Orlando theme parks know that food is the most overlooked detail of a trip to Central Florida, that’s why they’re taking the steps to improve their food options and make dining a highlight instead of a way to stop your stomach from growling.
Here are just a few of the top restaurants in Orlando theme parks where you can ditch the greasy food and long lines and enjoy a delicious meal:
Be Our Guest Restaurant – Magic Kingdom ® - Located in the New Fantasyland, Be Our Guest Restaurant is open for quick service lunch and table service dinner and is based on Disney’s Oscar nominated film, Beauty and the Beast. Inside Beast’s castle in the New Fantasyland Expansion, you’ll find the West Wing, The Rose Gallery, and the Ballroom; all locations from the film magically recreated with tremendous detail that will have everyone in the family looking in awe. Talk about dining in style. Continuing the theme of the film, the restaurant is a French-inspired cuisine with dishes you won’t find anywhere else in Walt Disney World. For Lunch, they serve sandwiches and salads, but for dinner; there’s Braised Pork, French Onion Soup, Rotisserie Cornish Hen, Layered Ratatouille, and other French dishes. Also, they’ll have a selection of wine and beer available, which makes it the only place in Magic Kingdom that serves alcohol.
Bistro de Paris – Disney’s Epcot ® - Judged the best theme park restaurant by readers of the Theme Park Insider, Bistro de Paris is Epcot’s high-end French cuisine restaurant located upstairs – one flight above Les Chefs de France. It’s no surprise why this one is a favorite among Epcot ® guests. By far one of the most romantic and decadent restaurants in Disney ®, Bistro de Paris will take diners on a luxurious trip to France as you indulge in such French appetizers as mussel soup or Mediterranean tuna tartar and main dishes of double-cut white veal chop, rack of lamb and filet mignon. The atmosphere really brings it all together with turn-of-the-20th-century touches like brass sconces and milk-glass chandeliers.
Sharks Underwater Grill - SeaWorld Orlando -
Fine dining has never been so intense as it is at Sharks Underwater Grill. This full-service restaurant puts you face to face with the predators from Shark Encounter with tables located right next to the glass! And the menu is just as exciting with a wide selection of appetizers, mouth-watering entrees including steak, seafood and chicken, decadent desserts and a few choice selections for children.
Crown Colony Restaurant - Busch Gardens Tampa Bay -
Located on the top floor of the Crown Colony House, the Crown Colony Restaurant is Busch Gardens’ only table service restaurant. The restaurant offers both a full menu and a family style, all-you-can-eat fried chicken or fish meal. And as with the rest of Orlando Fun Tickets’ Top restaurants, the food is just a part of the excitement of the restaurant. Crown Colony offers incredible views of the park’s Serengeti Plain and guests can watch both the Montu and Cheetah Hunt roller coasters fly by.
Mythos – Universal Orlando – Named the world’s “Best Theme Park Restaurant,” Mythos offers dining one of the most unique settings of any of the rest of our restaurant choices. You’ll feel as if you’ve stepped into an archeological dig site as towering rock formations, cascading waterfalls and ancient figures carved into the walls surround you during your meal. The food itself is just as unique with blueberry and pistachio crusted grilled pork, cedar planked Bay of Fundy salmon, gourmet hamburgers and imported pasta.
