Every night, families can listen to The Big Easy’s most popular bands performing authentic blues, zydeco and more. And as you listen to the city’s signature sound, make sure you get a taste of the Big Easy with authentic Cajun dishes including Spicy Jambalaya, Grilled Andouille Sausage, Shrimp Gumbo, beignets and more.
So what about those beads? Just like during the parades up and down Bourbon Street, Universal’s Mardi Gras parade will toss handfuls of beads to screaming parade-goers as the dazzling floats like the Riverboat, King and Queen, and Gator floats; colorful costumes; towering stilt walkers; entertaining street performers and dancers wind their way through the streets of Universal. This year, the parades’ theme is “Colorful Cultures Around the World,” and will feature floats like The Mexican Day of the Dead, Chinese New Year, and The Elegance of India.
Kids can even get in on the Mardi Gras celebration with the Little Jester’s Parade Viewing Area located next to the Terminator 2: 3D attraction.
