Dig Up Some Earth Week Treats at Walt Disney World
Earth Day may have been April 22 but Walt Disney World® is celebrating the day all week long with “Earth Week,” Disney’s latest Limited Time Magic. Now through April 28, guests to Magic Kingdom ®, Epcot ®, Hollywood Studios ®, Animal Kingdom ® and Disney Polynesian Resort can eat dirt with tasty “earthy” treats in honor of the special week.
Pastry chef’s across Disney properties have “dug up” the perfect ingredients to create delicious “Earth Week” Worm & Dirt desserts, and while they may look like dirt, we assure you they taste amazing! Tony’s Town Square and Liberty Tree in Magic Kingdom ®, Kringla Bakeri Og Café and Sunshine Seasons at Epcot ® and Capt. Cook’s at Disney’s Polynesian Resort are now serving up Worms & Dirt tarts topped with a smiling strawberry, fresh raspberries and chocolate cookie “dirt” crumbs.
Meanwhile, ABC Commissary, Pizza Planet, Backlot Express, Studio Catering Co. and Starring Rolls Café at Disney’s Hollywood Studios ® and Kusafari Coffee Shop and Bakery and the espresso and coffee cart at Animal Kingdom ® are offering their own version of a worm and dirt treat, this time in cupcake form. The chocolate Worms & Dirt cupcake is made up of a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting topped with cake crumbs, chocolate sprinkles and garnished with a tiny candy flower pot, chocolate candy flowers and colorful gummy worms. And that’s just the decorations on top of the cupcake. The chocolate Worms & Dirt cupcake gets even sweeter when you taste the chocolate pudding in its center.
The Polynesian Resort will be offering another Worms & Dirt cupcake for Earth Week except unlike the Hollywood Studios ® and Kusafari Coffee Shop and Bakery Worms & Dirt cupcake with tiny pot and gummy worms, this one is topped with a worm made with a strawberry face and fresh raspberries for a body. There have also been sightings of a giant gourmet caramel apple featuring Worms & Dirt toppings at all of the candy shops around Disney’s ® many parks. The caramel apple is also covered in “dirt” cookie crumbs and topped with candy worms that look as if they are crawling out of the apple.
