Princess Fairytale Hall Now Open at Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World’s ® new Princess Fairytale Hall has officially opened in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom ® and already the new princess meet-and-greet location for Cinderella and Rapunzel proves to be a guest favorite, especially among young girls.
According to the hall’s storyline, Princess Fairytale Hall is a gift from the King to Cinderella, and acts as a place where she and other princesses can greet subjects. While Cinderella and Rapunzel are the only two Disney ® princesses who are always featured in the Hall, each princess will have visiting princesses such as Aurora, Snow White, Mulan, Tiana or Jasmine.
The royal experience begins when you enter the hall through a castle-like entrance with stonewalls and stained glass windows. Guests are immediately welcomed into a large gallery adorned in regal décor such as high ceilings with wooden beams and peaked arches with ornate chandeliers and portraits of Disney ® princesses. You’ll also pass by a gorgeous Cinderella-themed stained glass window on the way in.
After you’ve marveled at the beautiful design of the Hall, you’ll choose one of two queues: one for Cinderella and a visiting princess or one for Rapunzel and a visiting princess.
Along the way guests can marvel at Cinderella’s glass slipper, glimmering brightly on a blue pillow. Each room features paintings of fairytale landscapes as well as a table with a set of storybooks, with the titles of each fairytale in their own language. The centerpiece book is that of Snow White, and is clearly a tribute to the former dark ride, Snow White’s Scary Adventures that was once housed where the Hall now stands. Rose vases are located on the far side of each reception room and wallpaper decorated with crowns and other royal imagery completes the gorgeous space.
“Through the years dating to Walt’s time, fairy tales have always been a rich cornerstone of Disney storytelling,” said Chris Beatty, creative executive director of Walt Disney Imagineering. “Princess Fairytale Hall carries on our tradition of bringing classic Disney fairy tales to life in new and unexpected ways.”
