Ten Non-Theme Park Things To Do On Your Orlando Vacation

Every Orlando vacation means hitting the most popular theme parks in the world: the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort; Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure at the Universal Orlando Resort; and SeaWorld or even Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay.

But Orlando theme parks are only part of the action you can enjoy on your Orlando vacation. Here are ten Orlando vacation activities that don’t require Orlando theme park tickets:

  1. Take a boat ride. There are options at several Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort hotels. Or for a real adventure, speed through an airboat outing in Kissimmee.
  2. Visit the petting zoo or go on a horseback riding trip at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.
  3. Shop and stroll along the water at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort. While you’re there, take a tour of Disney’s Boardwalk and Beach and Yacht Club Resorts.
  4. Do some dining and dancing at one of Universal CityWalk’s hot nightclubs. Not into the bar scene? Grab a bite and catch a flick – Universal has a movie theater too!
  5. Relive history at the Kennedy Space Center, less than an hour from Orlando.
  6. Join the locals at an area flea market. There are two air-conditioned indoor flea markets just a few miles from Disney on U.S. 192 in Kissimmee. A little further away, you can choose from a few traditional outdoor flea markets too.
  7. Drive on Florida’s most famous beach in Daytona Beach, which is only about an hour’s drive away from Orlando.
  8. Take in an Orlando dinner show like Medieval Times or Arabian Nights, and get a huge bargain on your Orlando dinner show tickets when you get them right here at OrlandoFunTickets.com (along with your Disney tickets, Universal tickets and Sea World tickets too, of course.)
  9. Get great deals at one of Orlando’s outlet malls, Belz Outlet near the Universal Orlando Resort, or the Premium Outlet near SeaWorld.
  10. Visit Celebration, Florida, a small community just a few miles from Walt Disney World that began as a Disney-owned residential neighborhood. It has since grown into a full fledged city, but it still has that Disney charm – not to mention a thriving old-time downtown where you will find delicious dining options, an old-fashioned ice cream parlor and even a Starbucks.

How to Beat the Disney Ticket Increase

The best way to overcome the latest hike in Disney ticket prices

Walt Disney World announced recently that they are raising Disney ticket prices, and the Universal Orlando Resort did the same just one week later. In this sluggish economy, higher Disney ticket prices could mean bad news for your Disney vacation. Luckily we know how you can get your Disney tickets at the lowest prices in town.

OrlandoFunTickets.com has the best Disney ticket prices on the Web, and because we are the only authorized Disney ticket seller online, you are always certain to get the very best Disney ticket deals when you buy your Disney tickets at OrlandoFunTickets.com!

The latest Disney ticket boost is just a few dollars, so it really isn’t even a big deal. In fact, when you compare it to how much everything else has gone up (think gas and groceries), this slight up in Disney tickets is hardly worth a mention. What is much more worthy of mentioning is all of the great new adventures that await you on your Disney vacation, and make the cost of your Disney tickets worth every penny.

If your Disney vacation is coming soon, then you will want to head to Epcot for the 13th Annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. This year’s International Food & Wine Festival begins on Sept. 26, and runs through Nov. 9. All of the sites and sounds of Epcot’s annual food fiesta are included with your Disney ticket. While you’re at Epcot, don’t forget to check out the newly renovated Spaceship Earth!

Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, they are celebrating their new name with reels of exciting attractions and entertainment. The newest Disney attraction, Toy Story Mania! opened earlier this summer, and the 3-D combination video game-Disney attraction is more than worth the added Disney ticket dollars. And that’s just the beginning.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios introduced their most interactive parade ever, Block Party Bash, in March. You can also check out all of these entertaining adventures added at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the past year:
  • Journey Into Narnia: Prince Caspian (opened in June)
  • American Film Institute (opened in May)
  • Playhouse Disney-Live on Stage (opened in February)
  • Jedi Training Academy (opened in October)
  • Handy Manny Meet and Greet (opened in October)
  • High School Musical 2: School’s Out! show (opened in September).

Top 10 List for a Summertime Orlando Vacation

Summer is here, and let me tell you it is a hot-hot-hot time for an Orlando vacation. The average summertime temperature in Orlando is well into the 90s, and the humidity is usually just as high. Yet people still come in droves to spend their summer vacation in Orlando.

If you take your Orlando vacation this summer, there are a few things to remember to stay comfortable and healthy. This is especially true for anyone who isn’t used to tropical temps.

Orlando Vacation Tip #1 – Stay Hydrated
Water is the most important accessory for your Orlando vacation. The best way to beat the heat is to keep your body hydrated, and water is the best way to do that.

Orlando Vacation Tip #2 – Always Wear Sunscreen
The summer sun in Orlando is fierce, and you need to be protected. Wear the highest SPF sunscreen available and you won’t get burned.

Orlando Vacation Tip #3 – Go Early
You may want to sleep in on your vacation, but the morning is the coolest time of day. So try visiting the Orlando theme parks early in the morning.

Orlando Vacation Tip #4 – Stay Late
Nighttime is another time when the temperatures ease. Most Orlando theme parks stay open late all summer long, so hit them when the sun goes down.

Orlando Vacation Tip #5 – Take the Afternoon Off
Afternoon is the hottest time of day in Orlando. The best thing to do during that time is hang by the pool or nap in the nice, cool room.

Orlando Vacation Tip #6 – Stay Cool in the Pool
Most kids say their favorite part of an Orlando vacation is swimming in the hotel pool. On a summertime Orlando vacation, the hotel pool is a whole family favorite.

Orlando Vacation Tip #7 – Watch the Kids
Of course you should always keep an eye on your kids during your Orlando vacation, but this is especially important on sweltering summer days.

Orlando Vacation Tip #8 – Watch Yourself Too
Don’t overdo it. If you feel like you’re getting overheated, take a break and find an air-conditioned place to cool down.

Orlando Vacation Tip #9 – Dress Appropriately
Wear comfortable clothes that will keep you as cool as possible.

Orlando Vacation Tip #10 – Have Fun
And this is the most important tip for every Orlando vacation!

Discover Disney for Couples With Your Tax Rebate Check

Many people think Walt Disney World is only fun for families and kids. They are wrong. And since your tax rebate check is on its way, now is a great time to find out what a Disney couple’s vacation looks like. For starters, you can get your discount Disney tickets for two right here at OrlandoFunTickets.com.

Disney is fun for couples too
Disney does have a reputation for family fun, but it is also the number one honeymoon destination in the United States. Obviously there is something here for couples, and with the extra cash courtesy of your tax rebate check, you can explore the possibilities for yourself.

Married folks with no kids can expect a tax rebate check for about $1200, and that can get you an amazing Disney weekend for two.

Taking a couple’s weekend at the Walt Disney World Resort
Disney’s Value Resorts – the cheapest hotels on Disney property – can be chaotic and overwrought with little kiddies. Not the ideal setting for a couples getaway. But Disney’s Moderate Resorts are much more peaceful and they won’t use up your entire tax rebate check either. Check out these options:
  • 2 Adult 3-day Magic Your Way Disney tickets good for admission to a different Disney theme park each day. (Total = $405)
  • A 3-night stay at either Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter or Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside, will cost about $210 per weekend night. (Total = $420)

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort is kind of off the beaten Disney path, and its ambience is serene and pleasant. It has calming woods, peaceful paths and a winding river, on which you can travel via boat to Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island.

Amazingly, this relaxing couple’s weekend will cost you just over $800, not including food and travel costs.

Make your Disney couple’s weekend even better with La Nouba tickets
If you really want to splurge – and everything about your tax rebate check encourages you to do just that – top off your Disney couple’s weekend with tickets to see Cirque du Soleil – La Nouba. Cirque du Soleil tickets for 2 adults are only $150, and you can get them right here along with your Disney tickets.

So, without blowing your entire tax rebate check, you can get Disney tickets, stay in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel and check out Cirque du Soleil – La Nouba, one of the hottest shows in town. Now that’s what I call smart spending.
