Celebrities Get into the Halloween Spirit!

Orlando theme parks are in full Halloween mode this time of the month. We have got Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Orlando Resort and Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. For the kiddies there are two great events in the Orlando area. We have Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party over at the Walt Disney World Resort’s Magic Kingdom and SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular over at the SeaWorld park. No matter what style of Halloween fun you prefer, there’s something for you to check out. OrlandoFunTickets.com has been giving you all of the inside scoop on what’s going on in the parks, but we’re here to tell you about all of the great special appearances that have been going on throughout the month of October.

It seems no matter which Halloween event you go to you’re bound to run into someone famous checking out the parks for themselves! Over at Halloween Horror Nights, some real ghostbusters showed up for a meet and greet with paranormal fans. Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango of Syfy’s Ghost Hunters showed up to check out the award-winning event earlier this month. They weren’t the first celebrities to stop by however! John C. Reilly (Stepbrothers, Talladega Nights) stopped in at Universal Orlando with the cast of Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assisant to promote the movie, which has its own Scare Zone at the Halloween Horror Nights event. Just last weekend, horror icon Hitchcock muse Tippi Hedren (The Birds) was photographed with a few of Dracula’s brides in the Dracula house at HHN, still looking classic years after the popular Hitchcock film.

Over at Busch Gardens, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ cheerleaders decided to stop by the Halloween event and go through the haunted houses, getting their own fair share of thrills and scares at the popular adult-focused event. Howl-O-Scream is one of the few theme parks that feature 21 and older events to let adults have fun as well. October still has a couple of weeks left to go and Halloween isn’t even here yet. We’re sure there will be more celebrities and special appearances happening and OrlandoFunTickets.com will bring you the scoop.

Ghost Hunters Investigate Halloween Horror Nights

When Ghost Hunters premiered on the Sci Fi Channel (now called SyFy) back in 2004 it quickly gained a cult following. But the show has now grown to be a franchise with magazines, merchandise and spinoff shows that bring in millions of dollars a year. Ghost Hunters follows former Roto Rooter plumbers Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson as they explore some of the most haunted places in the United States with their team of investigators. They’ve investigated places like The Stanley Hotel, which inspired Stephen King’s The Shining, to the Winchester Mansion as part of TAPS: The Atlantic Paranormal Society.

Grant, Jason and crew also investigate businesses, historical sites and personal homes claiming paranormal activity is going on. At the end of every episode they declare whether the site they just finished investigating with various ghost hunting equipment was haunted or not. TAPS uses equipment like thermal cameras, night vision cameras, electromagnetic field (EMF) detectors and regular point and shoot cameras. If you’re a fan of the show, all of that information is old hat.

But fans of Ghost Hunters may not know that this Thursday Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango will be appearing at Universal Studios Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights. This year’s “Ripped from the Silver Screen” theme features awesome characters like Wolfman, Chucky, Jigsaw, Dracula and Frankenstein for an amazing Halloween adventure that hasall new scare zones and the ever popular Rocky Horror Picture Show tribute along with Bill and Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure.

Steve and Dave will be appearing Thursday, October 8th, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and then again from 10:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Fans will have a chance to meet Steve and Dave and get an autograph signed. Halloween Horror Nights is going on now but will only run through October 31st, so make sure you get your discount tickets soon. Steve and Dave aren’t the only celebs to have appeared at Halloween Horror Nights. Just recently, John C. Reilly was in town to promote his new movie Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant. Who knows who’ll stop by next? Ghost Hunters fans; be sure you head to Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando this Thursday!

Celebs Come to Universal for Horror Night's "Cirque du Freak"

October is here and Halloween is right around the corner. The Orlando theme parks are ready for Halloween and so are we. Over at Halloween Horror Nights the scare zones and haunted houses are up and scaring the thousands of visitors that come their way. Universal Studios Orlando won a Golden Ticket for their Halloween Horror Nights event. That basically means it considered the best Halloween event in the theme park world. This year Universal is paying tribute to horror icons from the silver screen like Chucky, Saw, Wolfman, Dracula and Frankenstein. Along with the houses there are great scare zones featuring cannibals, World War II zombie soldiers and mutated humans. They also have a scare zone called Cirque du Freak.

The Scare Zone looks just like the name implies. It’s a sideshow-themed zone where bearded ladies and deformed humans roam around hunting for frightened victims. But this scare zone is also representing Universal Studios’ latest movie Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant. Yes, even Universal is getting in on the vampire madness that has swept America. But Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant is about a teenage boy that accidentally breaks a 200 year old truce between two vampire factions. He then has to help Mr. Crepsley, played by actor John C. Reilly, restore the peace between the factions.

This isn’t the first time Universal dedicates a section of Halloween Horror Nights to their movies. After all, we have a Saw house this year and the Wolfman house is about Benicio Del Toro’s movie, which comes out next year. But recently, John C. Reilly and other actors from Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant stopped by Halloween Horror Nights to talk to fans and promote the movie, which will be out in theatres October 23. You might recognize Reilly from some of the other movies he’s done like Step Brothers and Talladega Nights with Will Ferrell. The fans were excited to see Reilly and other actors from the movie before they headed into the park for some horror nights fun. Don’t forget the event runs all throughout October, so get your tickets now!

Howl-O-Scream's Scream Cam Victims

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Howl-O-Scream event is celebrating its 10th year of scares. The popular Halloween event is one of the only Halloween events within the Orlando theme parks that have activities specifically catered toward adults. There are sexy dance shows and “scareactors” in racy costumes. At this year’s event, guests can visit Club Envy. Hosted by Ms. Vayne and her vampire models, Club Envy is a 21+ dance club that will be serving alcohol, hors d’ oeuvres and will allow guests to meet with the different characters featured in the haunted houses. To get everyone in the mood for the Halloween event, Orlando Attractions Magazine picked two of its readers to be some of the first people to try out one of the houses at Howl-O-Scream.

Dannie Kleszczowski and Aurora Moore, both Orlando natives, visited Howl-O-Scream and were outfitted with scream cams. The scream cams are attached to backpacks that carry the rest of the equipment. Mounted on the victims’ chest, the scream cam captures every scream and jump the victims make as they go through the house. Dannie and Aurora were sent through the Delta Epsilon Delta (DED, get it?) sorority house with the scream cam.

Both girls were interviewed by Howl-O-Scream Creative Director Scott Swenson on their apprehensions about entering the haunted houses. Dannie admitted she had never attended a Halloween event of Howl-O-Scream’s caliber and admitted to being the kind of victim that talks to herself rather than screams. Dannie went through the DED house as sorority girls clawed at her and called her name. At one point she passed a tanning booth and turned down the DED girl’s request for a tan. “I like being pale,” she said comically.

Aurora Moore admitted to putting up a front when faced with a scary haunted house. Aurora admitted to Scott Swenson she was “75% 25%” on the apprehension versus excitement scale and then proceeded through the DED house, shouting “Go DED!” at the scareactors as she ran away to escape them. Both Aurora and Dannie gave fans a great preview of what’s to come at Howl-O-Scream. It’s obvious that Busch Gardens is stepping it up and ready to give guests some great scares this Halloween season!

Halloween Horror Nights Orlando Details Revealed

After months of speculation Halloween Horror Nights fans can now stop guessing and start getting ready for the 19th year of this popular Orlando theme park attraction. With its Ripped from the Silver Screen theme, Universal Orlando plans to bring the scariest horror icons to life as you enter the world of the Universal Palace Theatre.

The entrance to Universal Studios will be converted to the façade of a 1920’s movie theatre where the main character or “host” of this year’s event, The Usher, will allow you into the parks. Universal has taken plenty of footage of The Usher and will be projecting him throughout the park to make sure you are on your best behavior and don’t break the rules of the Universal Palace Theatre. While many fans thought The Director would return for another show, Universal execs wanted to make it clear that this year’s theme wasn’t about making movies, it was about being trapped in them.

As for the haunted houses, there will be 8 great sites for you to get your scares. Silver Screams will be The Usher’s lair, so make sure you’re on your best behavior. Saw will take you through the twisted, demented world of the villain Jigsaw from the popular SAW movie franchise. The Wolfman will take you through a dangerous forest where werewolves lurk around every corner. Chucky: Friends ‘Till the End will put you face to face against the twisted toys of the Good Guys toy company and eventually Chucky himself. Dracula: Legacy of Blood will lure you into Castle Dracula on the night of “The Calling.” Dracula awaits a mortal woman to become his bride, but he will take male victims to feed on as well. In Frankenstein: Creation of the Damned, Dr. Frankenstein’s experiments have gone horribly wrong and now the creature he created returns to make the good doctor pay for the torture he underwent. The Spawning pays tribute to movies like Swamp Thing and The Creature from the Black Lagoon with strange creatures emerging from the waters of Wyandot, Ohio. Last but not least, Leave it to Cleaver puts a gory twist on a 1950’s butcher shop where they serve all kinds of meat, none of it animal related.

With all of these great haunted houses and scare zones featuring cannibals, WWII zombie soldiers and a dangerous abandoned drive-in, you’ll be cowering in fear at every turn. So make sure you get your discount Halloween Horror Nights tickets from OrlandoFunTickets.com to make this Halloween Horror Nights unforgettable.

Howl-O-Scream: A Halloween Event for Adults

Every fall the Orlando theme parks go into full swing Halloween mode. There is Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party at the Walt Disney World Resort Magic Kingdom, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando and numerous other haunted house events. It’s always great to head to your favorite parks at night and get scared while taking in the incredible detail these Orlando attractions put into their Halloween events. Not only do you get the haunted house experience, but many parks will leave their most popular rides open for guests to go on and that’s a treat in and of itself. These events are usually a bigger draw for the adult crowd, as many of the attractions are too gory for children and alcohol is often served. But one of the hottest Halloween events in Central Florida has to be Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

This year will be Howl-O-Scream’s tenth year scaring Busch Gardens visitors. This year Busch Gardens turns to vampires and fashion with their theme: House of Vayne. Led by the lead vampiress Ms. Vayne and her horde of vampire models, the House of Vayne “women” will travel the parks scaring you at every corner of the massive Busch Gardens park. Before we get to the haunted houses, Busch Gardens features two shows guests can attend. With Fiends, “Dr. Freakenstein” and his sexy nurses (clad in hot pink nurse outfits) dance and perform to a variety of musical numbers. Magician Jason Byrne is also on hand for Full Moon Cabaret: The Magic of Jason Byrne, a dark-themed illusion show any magic fan would love.

As for the haunted houses, there are a number of ways to get your horror fix. If you’re into college slasher films, check out the “Delta Epsilon Delta: Pledge Week.” This house is all about a sorority gone wrong and the horrors that happen inside the DED house. Vampire fans will love” Taste of Blood” as vampires run wild in the sewers looking for fresh blood to feed on. Other haunted house themes include motorcycle gangs, death row and a nightmare toy factory.

Along with the haunted houses there are various scare zones across the park where freaky characters wander around trying to scare you. Werewolves, banshees and even a carnival of “Day of the Dead" - like characters roam around looking for unwilling victims - so watch your back! Howl-O-Scream runs from September 25th to October 31st.

Get Your Costume Ideas Ready!

September and October mean one thing at Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom: Mickeys Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! You have got your hotel booked, your discount Disney Halloween party tickets purchased and you’re all ready to go, right? Don’t forget one very important fact! At Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party, you’re allowed to dress up!

There are tons of great ideas for families, kids and even teens or young adults when it comes to dressing up. We’re sure to see plenty of girls dressed up as the new princess on the block: Princess Tiana! Disney’s first African-American princess is sure to be a hit with little girls of all backgrounds. If your little girl is into fairies, Disney has expanded way past Tinkerbell. Why not dress up as one of her friends from Pixie Hollow? Along with Tinkerbell, you can be Rosetta, Silvermist, Fawn or Iridessa.

Pirates are always popular with both girls and boys. Parents, why not be Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swan while your children dress up as your little swashbucklers? Or if you don’t mind being a bit goofy, dress up the whole troupe Dalmatian style. Your tween kids might not want to do a family dress-up gig, but there are plenty of ideas for them as well.

High School Musical is still going strong. Be an East High School cheerleader or couple up as Troy Bolton (played by Zac Efron) and Gabriella Montez (played by Vanessa Hudgens). If you’re a loyal Hannah Montana fan, dressing up like the starlet just requires a blonde wig and a cute rocker outfit. Couples have plenty of options; just pick your favorite prince and princess from Disney history and you’re sure to find a great costume online.

If you would rather make your own costume or keep the price low, you can still keep it Disney related. Why not be a super Disney fan? Get the Mickey ears you’ve kept in your closet and all of your pins and put everything on at once. Or, if you want to be more traditional with your Halloween attire, use black eyeliner to paint on a cat nose and whiskers and keep your clothes dark. Cat ears and tails are usually one of the cheaper items at the Halloween shops. There are a variety of great Disney costumes on sale if you have some extra cash. But making your own costume or putting a unique spin on traditional Halloween items is easy if you’ve got a little bit of imagination and a bit pixie dust! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs until November 1st.

Ripped from the Silver Screen - Halloween Horror Nights Theme Announced

The Fourth of July is over and summer has just begun, but that does not mean Universal Studios does not have Halloween in mind. This year, Universal Studios brings your biggest nightmares into reality with the 19th annual Halloween Horror Nights event. While details are slowly being revealed, OrlandoFunTickets.com can confirm this year’s theme will be “Ripped from the Silver Screen.”

With this year’s theme, horror fans can expect to see some of their favorite figures and villains from the silver screen roaming the streets of Universal Studios Orlando. So far, Universal has confirmed Chucky, Jigsaw (of the SAW franchise) and Wolfman as their main ghastly guests. Four or five themes have yet to be revealed. There have been official reports of modernized Dracula and Frankenstein characters joining the "Ripped from the Silver Screen" lineup, and some HHN fans are speculating the addition of a Freddy vs. Jason themed haunted house event. As for the host of the event, there are rumors of The Director making a return, but these rumors have not been confirmed.

The addition of a Wolfman house is a first for Halloween Horror Nights because it marks the first time Universal incorporates a character into the event before the character’s movie hits theaters. The Wolfman stars Benicio Del Toro in a re-telling of the classic werewolf tale, where Lawrence Talbot returns home and is bitten by a werewolf, thus becoming one himself. The Wolfman hits theatres November 6th, the weekend after Halloween Horror Nights ends. Rumors have also been circulating about another horror franchise: Final Destination.

Considering the ties the Final Destination movies also have to Universal Studios, could that be one of the yet-to-be-announced Halloween Horror Nights themes? Stay turned to OrlandoFunTickets.com for all of your Halloween Horror Nights and Universal Studios news.

Halloween Horror Nights was voted “The Country’s Best Halloween Event” by Amusement Today and “The Best Halloween Experience” by the editor of Fangoria magazine. The event will run on select dates from September 25th until October 31st. Discount Universal tickets to Universal Studios’ 19th Annual Halloween Horror Nights can be purchased through OrlandoFunTickets.com.

Universal's Halloween Horror Nights 18 - biggest and best yet!

Universals Halloween Horror Nights 2008 sure is a sight to be seen! It is an experience unlike any other! Featuring eight all new haunted mazes, six all-new scarezones, and three live shows, the 18th year of Halloween Horror Nights is the biggest and best yet for Universal Orlando. “Reflections of Fear” featuring the one and only Bloody Mary is the theme for this year’s event. Universal takes all aspects of your innermost, darkest fears and brings them to life. Whether you had a childhood fear of the infamous Bloody Mary, are afraid of the dark, or have a fear of creepy crawly creatures, Halloween Horror Nights will hit home with at least one of your phobias.

Each haunted maze and scarezone is uniquely themed and very detailed, pertaining somehow to fears, myths, and urban legends. My favorite maze was “Scary Tales, Once Upon a Nightmare." In this haunted maze, you enter through the front doors of a quiet little cottage only to discover that the Evil Queen has taken over and is rewriting all of the childhood stories we are all familiar with. Only, she is rewriting them with a twist - an evil bloody twist. Here we catch a glimpse of Cinderella chained and shackled, missing the feet that once filled those famous glass slippers. We see poor Snow White’s corpse with her heart ripped out. We journey down the rabbit hole, only to discover Alice ripping the poor white rabbit to shreds. A little further down, we suddenly aren’t in Kansas anymore. Helpless Dorothy is now tied to the Scarecrow’s post. Let’s just say he isn’t looking for a brain anymore.

Leading up to Scary Tales is one of the six scarezones at this year’s event. “Fractured Tales” sets the perfect tone just before entering the haunted maze. Through this scarezone, you will be re-introduced to some of your favorite story book characters such as Little Red Riding Hood, who has a pleasant little surprise in her basket, The Frog Prince, looking extra large and extra creepy, Little Miss Muffet being attacked by a huge spider, This Little Piggy looking for someone else to take to the market, Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater and his late wife – still stuffed in the pumpkin, and a handful of other amazingly detailed characters. Scary Tales is just one of the eight haunted mazes at this year’s Halloween Horror Night’s event. Be sure to head over to Universal Orlando on one of the select nights this month to enjoy a truly terrifying evening reflecting your fears.
