Now that you have your theme park tickets in order, it is time to start planning how to spend your birthday! Whether it is one of your children who will be celebrating or you yourself, the Walt Disney World Resort goes above and beyond to treat their guests celebrating events such as birthdays like they are VIPs for the day! Be prepared for lots of recognition throughout the day, lots of surprises and lots of memories that will last a lifetime.
So how does one go about celebrating a birthday at the Walt Disney World Resort? It’s actually easier than you might think. First of all, it is important when you book your hotel reservations or any meal reservations on you or your child’s birthday that you let them know whose birthday it will be and what day it is on. By doing this, you can receive special recognition at your Walt Disney World hotel with small gifts and coupons for your birthday, and some hotels even leave surprises for you in your guest room on the day of your birthday!
Once you have alerted the appropriate parties about your birthday, all you have to do now is just sit back and wait for the big day to arrive. And once it does, the fun starts immediately! For example, if you alert the front desk of the birthday, they can set up a birthday wake-up call for the birthday girl/boy. A call from Mickey and Goofy is a sure-fire way to get any birthday off to a great start! Then, you can get your day jumpstarted with a character dining breakfast. You can pick this up at City Hall at the Magic Kingdom Park or at the Guest Relations booths at the three remaining parks. At any full-service restaurant on property (double-check when making your priority reservation at 407-WDW-DINE), you can feast on a personalized chocolate or vanilla birthday cake after your meal is complete. These cakes range from a six-inch cake that costs $ 12.50 to a whole sheet cake that will cost you $ 120.00. The six-inch cakes do not require advanced notice (in case you decide you want one at the last minute), but we urge you to pre-arrange any cake order before your big day to ensure that it will be there.
