Character Dining at Universal Orlando

The Walt Disney World Resort may be known for their famous characters, but the Universal Orlando Resort has quite a few stars of their own that fans want to see and meet. In fact, while Disney specializes in character dining experiences, Universal Orlando too has a variety of options for seeing their characters up close and personal, especially if you are a guest at one of the three resorts right there on property. Unlike at Walt Disney World, there is only one restaurant at the two Universal theme parks, Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios, which hosts a character dining experience. Each Thursday through Sunday, at Islands of Adventure’s Confisco Grille, you can spend your morning with your favorite Universal characters from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. This once-in-a-lifetime breakfast is .95 for adults and $ 9.95 for children, and you can make reservations for it by calling (407) 224-4012.

If you are planning on visiting the Universal Orlando Resort during the holidays, you can also start your day off with the all-new Grinch Character Breakfast at Islands of Adventure, which is part of Universal’s “Grinchmas.” This breakfast is being hosted for a limited time and on select dates only, so it is important to call ahead to the number mentioned previously to confirm dates and reservations. While this breakfast is not included in theme park admission, it will be a truly unforgettable meal that your whole family will remember for a lifetime. 

In addition to the “Grinchmas” celebration going on at Universal throughout the holidays, you can also spend your Christmas day with Universal characters at the Royal Pacific Hotel. At the Islands Dining Room, guests can feast on a special holiday buffet from noon until 9 p.m. that evening for a fee of $ 43.95 for adults or .95 for children. In addition to appearances from your favorite characters, this buffet features entertainment from an island musician, hula dancers, face painters, balloon artists and Santa himself will even be there!

Just as the Royal Pacific Hotel features Universal character appearances on Christmas, each hotel also features Universal Orlando Character Dining Nights on select nights of the week. At the Royal Pacific Hotel, the Islands Dining Room comes alive on Monday, Tuesday and Saturday nights with character dining experiences. At Trattoria del Porto at the Portofino Bay Hotel, character dinners take place every Friday evening from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., and at The Kitchen at the Hard Rock Hotel, Tuesdays and Saturdays feature character dining experiences.
