In order to find characters wondering around the park, it is especially beneficial if you keep certain things in mind. First of all, your main resource will be inside the parks each day. When you first enter the park, pick up a Times Guide or a Character Location Guide. The Times Guides are available at the entrance to the park as well as at all merchandise locations. These guides will not only tell you the hours of operations for attractions and shows, but it will also give you character greeting times and locations throughout the parks. Another invaluable resource in the parks each day is the Guest Relations center. Here, a Guest Relations host/hostess can answer specific questions you have on where specific characters will be at all times of the day. While these meet-and-greets are always subject to change (and remember, characters only come out for a certain period of time before they have to go back in), they can give you the most “inside scoop” of where and when to spot your favorite character that day.
There are locations at each of the parks where you should head if you want to see guaranteed character spottings. At the Magic Kingdom Park, characters will always be in Mickey’s Toontown Fair Hall of Fame, while at Epcot, you will find many character littered throughout the World Showcase countries and also at the Character Connection meet-and-greet across from Innoventions. Or, if you are visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, try Camp Minnie-Mickey. Not only are there character trails where Mickey and his friends are all dressed up in jungle gear, but it is also a great place to go first thing in the morning to avoid long lines – and you never know who else might join Mickey!
If you want to see rare and unique characters, those are a bit tougher to find. While you may always be able to find Aladdin, Princess Jasmine and the Genie at the Agrabah Bazaar at the Magic Kingdom Park, did you know that you can usually find Pinocchio and his friends at the Pinocchio Village Haus, and that Mary Poppins and Jiminy Cricket sometimes join him there as well? And while Ariel’s Grotto will guarantee you a picture with the underwater princess, did you know that Belle from Beauty and the Beast is a regular at the Fairytale Garden?
As we mentioned earlier, Epcot is a great place to spot different characters in their elements around the world. For example, The Seas with Nemo and Friends is a great place to spot Nemo, China is great for spotting Mulan, Geppetto can be found in Italy, Aladdin and the Genie in Morocco and characters from Winnie the Pooh can be found in the United Kingdom pavilion in one of the gift shops.
At the Disney-MGM Studios, by far the best place for character spotting for rare and the not-so-rare characters is in front of Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat at the entrance of the park. Especially in the morning, and all throughout the day, meet-and-greets will be set up there with dozens of different characters. Anyone from Chicken Little to Mickey Mouse can be spotted here, so our best advice is to keep checking back throughout the day!
And finally, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, you will find a plethora of characters outside the park’s main entrance before you even enter! Don’t let that take up too much time, however, as you will have plenty more spottings throughout the day, including the aforementioned Camp Minnie-Mickey. You can also catch Lilo and Stitch regularly at the Island Mercantile just outside the entrance to Camp Minnie-Mickey, so be on the lookout for them there!
But remember, no matter what character you would like to find at Walt Disney World, you will need tickets to get in! We at OrlandoFunTickets.com can help you with that, so click here now to check out all of our unbeatable prices!
