Conservation Station
Rafiki’s Planet Watch is the backstage research, education and conservation center for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This area of the park has multiple educational exhibits, firsthand encounters with animals and behind-the-scenes looks at functions of the park, all of which can be found at the Conservation Station. While the entire area of Rafiki’s Planet Watch was originally named the Conservation Station, what is now known as the Conservation Station is just one area of Rafiki’s Planet Watch that includes multiple exhibits and interactive features to help you learn more about Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park’s conservation efforts.
While Rafiki’s Planet Watch and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park may have a common theme – conservation – your vacation can also have a common theme if you book it with OrlandoFunTickets.com; the theme of saving money! The Conservation Station is just one large building in Rafiki’s Planet Watch, but you won’t be able to miss it with its large, colorful murals just outside the building’s entrance. Once inside, you can feel free to wonder around the area at your own leisure. Among the exhibits you will come across include a window to a veterinary clinic where procedures are done on animals (you have the best chance of seeing a procedure done during the morning hours), interactive conservation and environmental displays and animal cams that allow you to see different animals around the park at the touch of a screen. Animal experts are also on hand, as are some animals themselves, to educate guests on animal care and to answer any questions you may have about any of the exhibits in the Conservation Station.
In addition to the exhibits above, guests can also transport themselves into a tropical rainforest with the exhibit Song of the Rainforest. In a dimly-lit booth, guests can relax for a few minutes while listening to sounds that are taken straight from a rainforest on a track that is narrated by Grandmother Willow from the movie “Pocahontas."
Whether you are interested in taking a break from the rush of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park or are truly fascinated by the behind-the-scenes atmosphere of Rafiki’s Planet Watch, this area is one that can be both educational and enjoyable for any family and is highly recommended for your next visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.
