DINOSAUR at Disneys Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park has evolved and grown throughout its ten-plus years of existence, but much of the oringal park’s attractions and shows are still intact. Located in Dinoland U.S.A., DINOSAUR is a racous ride into the past, as guests enter the Dino Institute, where one of the scientists, Dr. Seeker, has given you access to a 12-passenger “time rover” that will take you back to the Cretaceous period when dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Your mission is to search for and bring back the Iguanodon – the only problem is that the time period you are entering is dangerously close to the time when a meteor supposedly struck the Earth, killing all forms of life… and did we mention the living dinosaurs?

Your journey back into time takes place in a jungle-like dark setting and includes close calls with small meteor showers and several different species of dinosaurs (the largest Audio Animatronic figures Disney has produced), which are all identified by Dr. Seeker along the way. At the end of your adventure, guests finally locate the Iguanodon and escape, despite a last-minute scare from a Carnotaurus and with only seconds to spare before the giant meteor makes impact.

Your ride on the time rover is not smooth like that of a roller coaster – instead, this attraction is very rough and jerky, simulating the ride of an off-road vehicle. Due to its nighttime setting, turbulent nature, loud noises and flashing lights, this ride may be too scary for small children (the height requirement is 40 inches) and also should not be experienced by anyone who has health problems, especially back concerns.
