The Downtown Disney® Marketplace may be known for its variety of shopping destinations, but what many guests don’t realize is that the Downtown Disney® Area has also become one of the top places on the entire Walt Disney World® Resort property to dine as well! From full service gourmet seafood restaurants to casual eateries, the Downtown Disney® Marketplace has something for everyone – and every taste bud!

Fulton’s Crab House is the signature restaurant at the Downtown Disney® Marketplace, and not just because of its massive exterior. This restaurant that sits on the Buena Vista Lagoon is an authentic replica of a riverboat, and the cuisine inside is just as opulent. Fresh seafood is flown in daily to this restaurant, resulting in over 50 seafood selections on the menu daily. And while seafood may be the main attraction here, you need not worry if you are not a seafood lover, as there are many options on the lunch or dinner menu for you as well, such as steaks and chicken breast dishes.

Another restaurant located right on the Buena Vista Lagoon is Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant. This eatery also specializes in seafood, but, just as with Fulton’s Crab House, that is far from being the only selection on the menu. Along with their famous crab cakes, shrimp and penne pasta, clam chowder or baked salmon, Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant also offers favorites such as beef pot roast, penne pasta with alfredo and grilled chicken and a roasted chicken breast dish for dinner. The lunch menu offers even more variety, with a marinated Portobello mushroom sandwich, French dip sandwich or tuna salad combo with soup among the offerings. Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant also offers a wide range of desserts, from key lime pie to a fresh fruit salad or double chocolate cake, and be sure not to leave before trying the restaurant lounge’s signature strawberry margaritas!

Located beside Cap’n Jack’s Restaurant is another unique restaurant at the Downtown Disney® Marketplace, the Rainforest Café. This restaurant that is shaped like a giant volcano is themed just like a rainforest, complete with a jungle-like motif, wild animals hanging from the ceiling and around every corner, a large saltwater fish tank – and yes, even thunderstorms that move through the area. Kids especially love the ambiance of the restaurant, but adults find another reason to appreciate it – the menu! Everyone in your family is sure to find something appetizing, as the menu features everything from burgers to chicken, salads, pastas, seafood and more. And, no trip to the Rainforest Café would be complete without their iconic VOLCANO for dessert. With layers of brownies and ice cream that create a perfect mound, this dessert (that is big enough for the entire family) is served complete with a sparkler on top to really give it that extra volcanic feel!

Those craving a family meal in a wild setting may enjoy the Rainforest Café, but for those looking for a more elegant meal with regional Italian dishes, diners can head over to the Portobello Yacht Club, which is also located on the banks of the Buena Vista Lagoon at the Downtown Disney® Marketplace. This restaurant has a casual feel to it, but its dishes are anything but ordinary, as the cuisine includes ingredients that are specific to different regions in Italy. The cuisine, along with the extensive wine list, will have any diner falling in “amore” with this restaurant in no time!

While quick service options aren’t usually known for their quality of food, one restaurant at the Downtown Disney® Marketplace breaks that mold. The Earl of Sandwich is the self-proclaimed home to the “world’s greatest hot sandwich,” and anyone who has eaten at this establishment might not give you much of an argument. The hot sandwich menu is the heart of this restaurant’s specialties, with everything being made right in front of you from scratch using artisan baked bread and fresh ingredients. The specialty sandwich is the Original 1762, which has freshly roasted beef, cheddar cheese and a creamy horseradish sauce, but there are plenty more to choose from to satisfy any palate. Earl of Sandwich features everything from turkey sandwiches, chicken sandwiches or staples such as a tuna melt, meatball sandwich, Italian sandwich, vegetarian sandwich or a ham ‘n’ swiss, among many other offerings.

Earl of Sandwich isn’t the only quick service restaurant in the Dowtown Disney® Marketplace, however. McDonald’s and Wolfgang Puck Express offer classic favorites to families looking for a meal on the go, while the Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop and Goofy’s Candy Company offers a multitude of options to satisfy even the strongest sweet tooth!
