Grad Night
Each April, thousands of high school seniors overtake the Walt Disney World Resort for a fun-filled and safe graduation party that is just for them. And in 2009, for the first time ever, this party will make history as it makes its debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios after its long-standing tradition at the Magic Kingdom Park. With dance zones, a celebrity host, thrilling attractions and live musical performances, Disney Grad Nights are the perfect way to give any high school graduating senior a last hoorah with a party that only the Walt Disney World can deliver!
Disney Grad Nights tickets are typically sold as senior class trips, so chaperones are required for each group of students, even if your group has less than 10 people. For larger groups, one chaperone is required to attend per 10 students, although they will be admitted to the theme park free as part of the chaperone program. Any high school graduating senior who attends public, private or home schooling is eleigible to attend, and it is up to the discretion of each indiviudal group whether or not the seniors can have guests attend with them. Each person in attendance, however, whether that be a student, guest or chaperone, must adhere to the code of conduct for Grad Nights, which includes no smoking, no alcohol and no drugs on the Walt Disney World Resort property.
Disney Grad Nights are all about having a safe environment for students to celebrate in, but there is much more to the evening than that! Along with a celebrity host for the evening (2009’s celebrity host will be Hayden Panettiere), there will be celebrity appearances (including Jaslene Gonzalez, cycle 8 winner of “America’s Next Top Model”), red-carpet treatment, a video game and sports zone area, unlimited access to the top attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, dance parties throughout the park and a special Class of 2009 fireworks finale. And, possibly the headliner for the entire event is the live musical performances from some of the top musical acts in the business today! Katy Perry, Lloyd, Metro Station and Wynter are among the acts on tap in 2009, while past Grad Night attendees have witnessed performances from bands such as the Backstreet Boys, Jessica Simpson, Ryan Cabrera, Destiny’s Child and Britney Spears!
If you are planning on making the trip down to the Walt Disney World Resort for Grad Nights in the future, you may want to consider making the trip more worthwhile with extra theme park tickets. While the after-hours Grad Nights are open to high school seniors only, that is the only admission into the parks they will have during their stay.
