Habitat Habitat!

There are multiple parts that make up Rafiki’s Planet Watch, the backstage research, education and conservation center for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, but the first section guests experience in this area of the park is Habitat Habitat! Located at the entrance to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, Habitat Habitat! is a set of trails that guests must walk through after they arrive via the Wildlife Express Train that guide them to the other attractions that lie ahead.

While the Habitat Habitat! wildlife trails are the only means to reach the other attractions in Rafiki’s Planet Watch, such as the Conservation Station and the Affection Section, they are much more than a simple set of trails. Much like the rest of the focus of this area, Habitat Habitat! is all about conservation, and there are many stops along the path that focus on this area as well as signs that educate guests on the various plants and animals that are all around. In fact, there are covered areas along the way for guests to stop and learn more from experts, and there is also one of six Kid’s Discovery Clubs, an interactive learning zone for kids, here as well. Whether you take time to stop and learn more at any of these stops is completely up to you, but everyone should be on the lookout for cottontop tamarins, an endangered species that calls Habitat Habitat! home.

Guests traveling to Rafiki’s Planet Watch should beware of what lies ahead of them when they arrive at this area of the park. Although Habitat Habitat! is a mostly shaded area, this is, as we mentioned before, the only walkway to and from the Conservation Station and Affection Section, so each and every guest will be using this means to get to and from these attractions and the train station. Therefore, this pathway can get quite crowded, so if you are not one of the first ones off the train and would like to take your time getting to and from each stop (there are benches along the way for rest), it might be a good idea to linger at the train station for a few moments after you arrive to stay away from the large crowd that has just arrived with you.
