House of Blues Entertainment
The Walt Disney World® Resort is not just a place for families and children – in fact, over the years, the entertainment scene has shifted and is gearing more and more towards the adult scene. One example of this is the Downtown Disney® West Side, which is full of restaurants, attractions and shops that focus on parents and adults in general, and one such hotspot in this thriving destination is the House of Blues, one of the top live music establishments in all of Central Florida.
The House of Blues is a multi-faceted establishment; on one hand, the House Blues is a music venue, attracting top talent from all over the world, while on another it is also a popular dining and shopping spot for guests. The House of Blues first made its debut at the Downtown Disney® West Side in 1997, but it has a history that dates back to the early 90s, when Tennessee-born Isaac Tigrett, who loved listening to “The Blues,” wanted to introduce the rest of America to the music of the rural south, which also included the sounds of jazz and gospel. While the venue still hosts a “Gospel Brunch” every Sunday, it has also opened its stage to many more genres of music, as anything from rock to pop acts have played in House of Blues facilities nationwide.
One of the reasons why the House of Blues Orlando is so popular is because, while many of the top names in show business today take to the stage on a regular basis, this venue has a much more laid-back and intimate feel than most of the arenas and stadiums the artists are accustomed to performing in and that guests are used to seeing a live show in. And, while on any given night the House of Blues can have a top-billing artist playing inside, revelers can also linger outside at the Front Porch Bar or in the Blues Kitchen to enjoy free live music performances every night of the week!
The House of Blues prides itself on being a place where the heart meets the soul, and with their mixture of live entertainment and dining options, it’s easy to see how!
