House of Blues
When one mentions the House of Blues, chances are that thoughts of live music are conjured, and for good reason. As one of the top music venues in the City Beautiful, visitors to Orlando can see live performances nightly, from acoustic artists playing outside on the front porch to top-billing acts taking the stage inside. But while most may flock to the House of Blues for these reasons alone, they are be sadly missing out on one of this establishment’s hidden treasures – its dining!
The House of Blues was founded by Tennessee-born Isaac Tigrett, who loved listening to “The Blues” and wanted to introduce the rest of America to the music of the rural south, which also included the sounds of jazz and gospel. Today, the House of Blues prides itself on being a place where the heart meets the soul, and they accomplish that feat with their mixture of live entertainment and dining that still today bring the heart and soul of the south to House of Blues venues nationwide!
In keeping with the southern theme, the cuisine at the House of Blues is delta-inspired, much like the menu at the first House of Blues in Connecticut in 1992. In addition to their world-famous spicy calamari, which regulars swear by, the House of Blues also prides itself on its Cajun-inspired entrees for lunch, dinner and late-night snacking. An array of burgers, sandwiches and main dishes like the Creole Seafood Jambalaya, Cajun Meatloaf, Fish of the Day, BBQ Basted Baby Back Ribs, New York Strip Steak and more leave guests hungering for more, while the adjacent gift shop offers the restaurant’s signature seasoning products, sauces and more so guests can take the tastes of the south back home with them!
With an inspiring dining room full of folk art and dark woods, the House of Blues lives up to its cultural aspirations throughout. And with its combination of live music and a unique and surprisingly authentic dining experience, the House of Blues at Downtown Disney® West Side is one of the hot spots in Central Florida each and every night!
