If you ask someone what is the first thing they think about when they hear Sea World’s name mentioned, chances are that they would tell you Shamu. Indeed, these colossal marine mammals probably take up more space than most attractions at Sea World, but just as there is so much more to Disney than Mickey Mouse, there is so much more to Sea World than Shamu the killer whale.
Whether you are venturing to Sea World to see Shamu or the many other animal species and attractions at this theme park, there is one thing you will need to see them all – tickets! While most people may wait to get their tickets for admission until they get to the part, you can save yourself both time and money if you get them ahead of time! In fact, if you purchase your tickets here at OrlandoFunTickets.com, you will get them not only at a discounted rate, but you can also have your tickets delivered right to your house or have them available for pick-up once you get to the area. As we mentioned before, Shamu and his new show, Believe, may be the main attraction at Sea World, but it most certainly isn’t the only thing this park is about. In fact, Sea World Orlando offers a look at many more sea creatures and land-based animals living in their natural habitats and combines that with rides, shows and other attractions suitable for the entire family. So, if you are looking for a broad-based educational and entertaining look at many kinds of animals in a more interactive environment than a zoo, then Sea World is right for you!
Among the other popular animal experiences at Sea World include Dolphin Cove, the Dolphin Nursery, Pacific Point Reserve, the Shark Encounter and the Stingray Lagoon. The most interactive of all of these is the Dolphin Cove, where you can purchase food for dolphins during one of their appointed feeding times throughout the day and get an up-close and person view of these creatures. The Stingray Lagoon also gives guests the opportunity to reach into a pool and actually feel stingrays that are passing by underwater. The Dolphin Nursery and Shark Encounters get you as close as possible to these animals, while the Pacific Point Reserve gives families the opportunity to feed and touch California sea lions and harbor seals. Other animal encounters include the Manatee Rescue, the Penguin Encounter, Turtle Point and the chance to view the famous Budweiser Clydesdales in their stables or as they graze nearby.
In addition to visiting each of these areas of the park, guests can also take in one of the popular shows around the park or visit the Hospitality Center. Each show has many performances each day, but you will need to arrive early for each to get a good seat, especially for Believe, Blue Horizons and Clyde and Seamore Take Pirate Island. And, any trip to Sea World is not complete without a trip to the Hospitality Center, which is home to the parent company of Sea World, Anheuser-Busch. Here, you can explore the company’s heritage or sample one of the many beverages (for those guests 21 and older) that Anheuser-Busch has become famous for!
Lastly, there are several attractions at Sea World that are more than worthy of a trip to. Kraaken is Orlando’s tallest and only floorless coaster that takes you up 140 feet in the air, turns you upside down seven times and reaches a bone-chilling 65 mph during its 3-minute, 39-second adventure. Next door at Journey to Atlantis, guests travel on water and high-speed rails as you are chased by spirits who want to keep you from your destination – a six story plunge into water. And finally, Wild Arctic is a motion-simulator-based thrill ride takes guests on an unforgettable helicopter ride to a remote research station – Base Station Wild Arctic – in the midst of a snowstorm!
