While many people may identify the entire Walt Disney World Resort by its four theme parks, in all actuality, it is so much more. In fact, it doesn’t have the word “world” in its name for nothing! Not only can you park hop at this wonderful vacation destination at some of the best theme parks in the entire world, you can also experience countless ends of entertainment that can’t possibly be contained in just one vacation. But, if you want to try to fit everything in during your next trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, here is your guide to the rest of the resort. Some you may know, some you may not, and some you may be a little surprised to find!
Downtown Disney Pleasure Island offers “the largest nightly street party on the planet.” Indeed, most of this section of the World is reserved just for those 21-and-up. But, on top of the clubs and bars at Downtown Disney Pleasure Island, you will also find a newly-added pub/restaurant that was designed to integrate more people into the Pleasure Island area of Downtown Disney. Also, a few years ago, Disney also changed its rules to allow guests to roam freely throughout Downtown Disney Pleasure Island. Guests still have to have a special wristband to get into all attractions and clubs, but anyone of any age can now walk throughout the area to take in the sights and sounds, shop, or play the carnival-like games that are located outside of the clubs. Be sure to check out this section to find out all about Downtown Disney Pleasure Island, from the clubs, attractions, shopping and dining.
Cirque du Soleil’s La Nouba is one of 15 Cirque shows that delights fans nightly all across the country with a new kind of entertainment that mixes the atmosphere of a circus with the art of story telling. While nine of the Cirque du Soleil shows are traveling performances, La Nouba is one of six resident shows, with an everyday home at the Walt Disney World Resort right in the heart of Central Florida. La Nouba is derived from the French phrase “faire la nouba,” which means to party or to live it up. This show accomplishes just that with a mixture of two groups of characters, the lively Cirques (circus people) and the Urbains (urbanites), and as the two worlds clash together, the audience is kept in laughter and on the edge of their seat for the entire performance. For more information in this show, visit this section on Cirque du Soleil.
