Before you spend all of your time (and money) at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, here are a few tips for you. First, if you are a guest at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you can take advantage of free package delivery to your hotel room free of charge. You also don’t have to worry about bringing your credit card with you either – just simply show your room key and the charges for all purchases will be billed directly to your room account. In addition, for an extra fee, your purchases can be shipped anywhere in the world via FedEx – but it will take a little longer than usual to get to your destination because of processing delays at the Walt Disney World Resort. Or, if you get home from your vacation and regret not purchasing something you saw, you can order any item from the theme parks at any time be calling 407-363-6200 during business hours.
On your way into the park, it may be a good idea to check out Garden Gate Gifts at the Oasis just inside the main entrance. Here, you can rent wheelchairs and strollers for the day, but this is also the place to pick up any items you might need for a day in the park. Garden Gate Gifts is also the official photo center for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, meaning you can buy film, cameras, pictures frames and albums here, as well as view and purchase the photos taken that day in the park by the professional photographers.
There is a plethora of shopping available to guests at Discover Island as you enter the park. At Creature Comforts, you can find anything for kids of all ages, including Pirates of the Caribbean merchandise, High School Musical gifts, plush animals, Disney princess dolls, CD’s and DVD’s and Walt Disney World Resort apparel. Or, if you are looking for more adult gifts, head over to Disney Outfitters, where you can purchase upscale men’s and women’s apparel, jewelry, watches, frames and globes. Finally, the Beastly Bazaar showcases home accessories, kitchenware, bath products, candles and accessories.
Other unique stores around Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park include the Mombasa Marketplace in Africa. This African marketplace and trading company features artifacts straight from the Harambe village, including gourds, soapstone wood carvings, hand-painted gift boxes, plus Kilimanjaro Safaris merchandise.
If you are over at DinoLand U.S.A., be sure to stop by Chester & Hester’s Dinsoaur Treasures, which features floor-to-ceiling dinosaur collectibles, including toys, dolls, books, games and novelty hats.
By the end of the day, if you still can’t find that perfect souvenir, stop by the Island Mercantile at Discovery Island. This is the park’s largest merchandise store, and guests can purchase a vast array of Disney characters outfitted in safari garb, Walt Disney World Resort merchandise, candy, toys and more. In other words, anything and everything you could want is probably here!
