Spring Break and Summer at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park
Spring Break and Summer (along with the major holidays) are the busiest time of year for the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, and it’s no wonder why, as children have time off from school and parents usually have time off from work as well. You do have to beware if you are planning a trip during one of these times due to the crowds, but the extra volume of people shouldn’t make or break anyone’s vacation plans, as there is fun to be had at the entire Walt Disney World Resort all year long!

If you are planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort during Spring Break or summer, you are not alone. Central Florida has increasingly become one of the Spring Break hot spots in America for families because children are out of school and due the pleasant weather in Central Florida this time of the year, while summer remains busy from the time children are let out of school until they go back in mid to late August. Because of these very reasons, it is important to utilize your time in the parks if you are traveling during these periods. The first important thing to remember is that, due to the crowds, you will need to arrive at the park first thing in the morning and should plan on staying an entire day if you wish to get most of the things done that you want to accomplish (and if you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, be sure to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours at the parks). Also, it would also be wise to head into your day with a roadmap of things to do so that you can utilize Disney’s Fastpass Service to its full advantage.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is like all of the others during Spring Break and summer, but there are a few key tips to remember if this park is on your list of things to see. First of all, if you are interested in going on the Kilimanjaro Safaris, it is best to do this attraction first thing in the morning. That is the time when all of the animals will be out for your viewing pleasure, as they will often seek shade during the heat of the afternoon. Also, Disney’s Fastpass Service would best be used for the Expedition Everest attraction, as it is the most highly sought-after attraction in the entire park (if you can’t get a Fastpass, we would suggest trying the single rider line instead). Lastly, if you plan on going to any of the shows in the park, reserve extra time for the lines as they often fill to capacity, and if you do want to beat the heat by getting a good soaking on Kali River Rapids, it might be best to have an extra change of clothes on hand in a locker unless you are content on letting the sun do its work for you.
We are confident that these tips can help any vacationer, whether your trip is planned for Spring Break, summer or any of the times in between, have the best and most efficient time in Central Florida possible!
