| Ever been on a rope bridge underneath a lair full of crocodiles? The Wild Africa Trek is not a ride; it is an adventure! At Disney’s Animal Kingdom ®, delve into the Harambe Reserve and enjoy the guided tour through the secrets areas that lie within the African Savannah. The three hour outing includes all the photos taken by the Disney photographer throughout the tour and lunch at the Savannah rest area in the middle of the reservation.
About Wild Africa Trek:
Wild Africa Trek is a private expedition into the Harambe Reserve at Disney’s Animal Kingdom ®. The guides lead you through a three hour trek to witness the exotic African wildlife. The history and nature of the terrain and the animals that live within the habitat are told and you’ll never miss a word, as you are given a wireless earpiece that is connected to the guide’s microphone headset. This is only the beginning of the hike that will eventually lead you through a rope bridge with crocodile infested waters underneath. Strapped in by a safety harness on a rail, crossing the bridge with the unevenly spaced steps will always have you looking down at your feet and admiring the raw strength and power of the mighty Nile crocodile. Also, you’ll be taken to a ledge overlooking a pond full of Hippos. With your safety harness attached, humble at the sight of these extraordinary animals with no barrier between you and the edge of the ledge.
Next on the itinerary is a trip on the VIP safari truck. On the bed of the open-air vehicle, take a seat and enjoy views of the Harambe Reserve’s landscape and wildlife. With extra time to take longer stops and binoculars provided, the vehicle tour through the Savannah at Disney’s Animal Kingdom ® is any photographer’s dream to get personal with these magnificent animals for an extended period of time. Although you don’t have to take your camera, a Disney photographer follows the tour from the beginning and documents the entire experience. Best of all, the photos are included in the Wild Africa Trek price. Nearing the end of the adventure, travel to a Savannah outpost in the middle of the reservation. Sit back and enjoy a panoramic view of the scenery with giraffes, cheetahs, rhinos, and elephants, while eating authentic African delicacies and snacks.
A portion of the trek price will be donated to a conservation effort of your choice at the return of your excursion into the Harambe Wildlife Reserve.
This tour DOES NOT include admission into the park. A separate admission is required in order to experience tour.

- Theme Park admission is required to participate in the WAT Experience.

- The WDW-TOUR Team will require a Credit Card as a guarantee on the reservation.
- This experience includes a food and beverage snack. Food and/or beverage allergies should be advised at time of booking and noted on the reservation.
- Same Day reservations cannot be made within 2 HOURS of reservation time.
- Guest should present voucher/certificate upon arrival at the WAT Experience.
- There is a 2 Day cancellation policy. Full price will be charged/forfeited if canceling within 2 Days or no show of the reservation.
Additional Guest Policies
- Excursion occurs rain or shine with the exception of severe weather or lightning.
- Guest Programs and Tours itinerary, content, duration and availability are subject to change without notice.
- Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a participating paying adult.
- Late arrivals will not be able to join the tour. Please advise Guest to continue to Guest Relations for other options.
- Persons who do not meet the minimum height requirement of 48 inches (122 cm) may not participate.
- Minimum age is 8 years old.
- A government issued photo ID is required to attend this program.
- Safety Gear will be provided for use during the experience.
- Allow up to 2 hours to travel to your destination when traveling from your hotel.
- All guests or their legal guardians will be required to sign a liability release form before participating in the experience.
- Physical Considerations: WARNING! For safety, participating Guests should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure. Expectant mothers shall not participate. Guests must be ambulatory and have sufficient stamina and endurance to experience this walking and climbing adventure through heights and the natural terrain of the Harambe Reserve. For those Guests who wish to participate in a less physical journey or a wheelchair accessible trek, they may contact Wild Africa Trek operations at 407-938-1373 for an alternative offering.
- Alternate Tour Offerings:
The alternate tour utilizes the unpaved roads of Harambe Wildlife Reserve which pass through rough and rugged terrain. You may experience bumps and sudden jolts on your safari adventure.
- Wild Africa Trek is an outdoor physical journey. Closed-toe shoes with a back strap or hiking boots required. No flip-flops will be allowed. Recommended appropriate casual attire for an outdoor hiking experience would include shorts or pants with a comfortable shirt. Skirts or dresses are not recommended.
- Weight Restrictions: Due to weight restrictions for specific areas during the tour, participants must weigh between 45lbs - 300lbs (20.14kg - 136kg) while wearing clothing, cameras, and safety gear.
