World of Disney® Store

What has 12 rooms, occupies 51,000 square feet and proclaims itself as being the largest Disney character store on the entire earth? You might be surprised that the answer to this question lies in the Downtown Disney® Marketplace and is none other than the store named the World of Disney®. As if the moniker didn’t give it away, this legendary store has everything in the world Disney-themed that you could want – all in one easy (and very busy) location!

Just as everything else at the Walt Disney World® Resort has a theme, so too does each and every room at the World of Disney® Store. Adults will be delighted to know that many of these rooms actually have goods that will be of interest to them, like the Enchanted Dining Room, home to household items that can be used in the kitchen, as well as things like a vast assortment of picture frames, or the Exotic Animal room, which is geared towards adult men and has items such as polo shirts, golf balls with a Mickey head emblazoned on them and more. Of course, anything Disney related has to have a villain associated with it, and the World of Disney® Store is no different. The large Villain room is anything but scary, however, as it is filled with jewelry, watches, clocks and collectible items, while also being home to the store’s large pin collection as well.

While adults may have many rooms just for them, kids too have multiple areas that are just for them. The Princess Experience room is the most popular among girls with its lavish princess costumes, dolls and accessories available (this is also where the popular Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is located), while boys will especially enjoy the Adventure room, which has a pirate theme with elaborate backdrops. Parents can also walk away with toys, apparel and plush dolls in the Snow White room, or get that one-of-a-kind novelty Disney hat in the Great Hall Accessories.

While we have covered a great majority of the rooms and items in the World of Disney® Store, it is physically impossible to describe in detail everything that is located in this store. Whether you are after a Disney sweatshirt, an antenna topper, pajamas, stationery, a snowglobe, picture frame (and the list goes on and on), the World of Disney® Store has it! If you get there and have any questions about how to find a specific item, simply ask one of the hundreds of Cast Members in the store or visit the information desk located near the center of the store. And for another great tip, kids in particular get a kick out of the Stitch that protrudes above one of the main entrances to the store (the entrance that faces Ghirardelli). What is so entertaining is the fact that Stitch will emit water from his mouth every once in awhile, “squirting” the unsuspecting guests walking below and giving children a chance to play in a bit of water during the hot summer months!
