Fantasyland at DisneyIn just one day Walt Disney World ® will officially debut the largest expansion in the company’s history – the new Fantasyland! Beginning tomorrow, Dec. 6, guests to Magic Kingdom ® will finally be able to experience the much-anticipated area that includes the magical Enchanted Forest, where visitors may see a dragon flying over head and the already-open Storybook Circus.

Disney ® has spent the better part of the year, readying the area for new fantasy adventures that include Belle, Gaston, the Beast, Ariel and more characters from some of Disney’s ® most famous fairytales. The idea behind the new Fantasyland is to take storytelling one step further by immersing guests into these magical stories like never before.

“Fantasyland is a place where a very special kind of memory is made, where children just old enough to understand the moment come in contact with princesses and heroes and meet their most beloved friends,” said Meg Crofton, president, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Operations, U.S. and France. “We are excited about sharing our treasured stories in new ways and giving guests the opportunity to interact with their favorite characters like never before.”

So what can you expect tomorrow during the Fantasyland debut? Well it depends if you like to travel by land, sea or air. If the sea is calling you can take an adventure with Ariel from “The Little Mermaid” above and below the waves on Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid. Here guests will feel like they’re actually descending below the water’s surface and into Ariel’s underwater as you visit popular scenes from the animated film. As you do popular characters and a magical score plays around you. After the ride guests can even meet Ariel during a meet-and-greet at Ariel’s Grotto.

If you don’t quite have your sea legs yet head over to the castle of the Beast, across from Ariel’s home and enjoy a meal and a glimpse into Beast’s Castle at Be Our Guest Restaurant. This dining experience will put guests right in the middle of Beast’s Castle, with dining rooms designed to look like rooms from the film, including the mysterious West Wing. Be Our Guest Restaurant will offer quick-service options by day and full-service table dining by night. In addition to Be Our Guest Restaurant, guests can get a taste of France at Gaston’s Tavern in Belle’s Village.

After you’ve had your fill of French cuisine, head to Maurice’s cottage and Enchanted Tales with Bell. Here you’ll explore Maurice’s workshop and come across an enchanted mirror that just so happens to be the doorway to a new kind of storytelling experience. Guests will be transported into the Beast’s library to meet Belle and Lumiere, for an interactive re-telling of “Beauty and the Beast.”

And finally, remember to look up in the sky. Dragons eggs have been found in Magic Kingdom, dragon footprints have been found around Magic Kingdom, and there have been many other clues pointing towards a dragon flight over Fantasyland tomorrow.Fantasyland will continue its expansion well into 2014 but for tomorrow you can live out your favorite fairytales like never before!
