Hot dogs or burgers? Soup or salad? Wrap or sandwich? It’s not always easy deciding what you want for lunch or dinner, especially when you’ve spent the last few hours riding thrill rides and meandering around a theme park. Luckily for you Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in Walt Disney World’s ® Magic Kingdom ® offers one of the biggest and most diverse menus in the park so everybody is satisfied.
Tucked in between Tomorrowland, Fantasyland and Cinderella Castle, Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe offers an out-of-this-world experience themed after a vintage-space age where food isn’t the only thing on the menu.
Surrounded by aquas and purples, trapezoids and triangular figures, Cosmic Ray’s makes guests feel as if they’re in a scene straight out of the Jetsons. The room is designed to look like you’re inside of a spaceship with three different food ordering “bays” to choose from. Each bay offers different types of food so make sure you check out the menus before choosing your bay. Bay 1 includes BBQ Chicken and Ribs. Bay 2 is hot dogs and burgers and Bay 3 consists of double cheeseburgers and salads.
After you choose your bay and order your food its time to find a seat. If it’s not too hot of a day outdoor seating is the best bet with incredible views of Cinderella Castle, the hub and Main Street. Cosmic Ray’s outdoor seating is covered so even if it is a little hotter than you’d like, the covered section provides adequate shade.
While Cosmic Ray’s indoor seating doesn’t provide the majestic views as the outdoor seating it does offer some pretty great entertainment from entertainer Sonny Eclipse. Sonny is an audio-animatronic, alien nightclub singer who performs his ‘50’s-esque hits like “Space Angel” on Cosmic Ray’s stage. With ample space for kids to run around and dance to Sonny’s tunes, families can have a blast. Plus while the kids dance by Sonny’s stage, you can fit some time to take a seat during your busy Disney day. Sonny really is one of the highlights of Cosmic Ray’s offerings (he’s jokes are pretty funny too) but if you prefer your meal without a singing alien there is an indoor seating area out of range of Sonny’s singing.
After you find a seat its time for the food! As previously mentioned, Cosmic Ray’s offers a wide variety of dishes including sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups, chicken, burgers and more and while the selection alone is mouthwatering, it’s Cosmic Ray’s incredible condiment bar, or shall we say two condiment bars that really has us excited! These two freebie toppings bars offer everything from your standard selections like sliced tomatoes, pickles and onions to the more exciting toppings including sautéed mushrooms and onions, unique sauces and even melted cheese. Talk about variety! And to make your Cosmic Ray’s experience a little sweeter, head next door after your meal for some great ice cream at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies.
