There is something about food on a stick. We’re not sure what it is but eating something off of a stick always tastes better. Maybe it’s the convenience of being able to both hold and eat your food in one hand while doing something else in the other. Or it’s the excitement of not having to use silverware on something that would normally require a fork and a knife. Or maybe it’s the food itself that draws us in because there aren’t that many food items out there that come on sticks, so when we see one; we have to give it a taste. Whatever it is Walt Disney World ® has capitalized on our love for food on a stick when they started offering turkey legs throughout Magic Kingdom ® (ok so it’s not quite a stick but it still brings us the same excitement). And now the Orlando theme park is offering another meat on a stick that could easily rival the very delicious turkey leg.
Gaston’s Tavern at the new Fantasyland expansion in Magic Kingdom ® is sure to be the next dining hot spot for guests. With numerous photos of Gaston flexing his muscles sprawled across the tavern’s walls and plenty of decorative touches like antler chandeliers and deer and bear heads, Gaston’s Tavern will completely immerse guests into the world of “Beauty and the Beast” and more so the world of Gaston and his little friend Lefou. And when you’re in a tavern that is supposed to be sitting on the French countryside, you can expect the food to reflect that.
Prior to soft opening, Gaston’s Tavern revealed they’d be offering more than just Le Fou’s Brew, a frozen apple juice with a hint of toasted marshmallow, topped with all-natural passion fruit-mango foam served in a souvenir goblet and the gooey warm cinnamon rolls and decadent chocolate croissants. Since Gaston is a beefy fellow, it’s only appropriate to offer guests a man’s meal and what says muscles and testosterone better than a pork shank? Apparently nothing as the pork shanks were so popular during the soft opening that they ran out!
