Too pretty to eat desserts at Disney WorldIt’s not enough to offer decadent pastries and desserts on a regular basis but now the chef’s at Disney World have cooked up adorable and delicious treats that are just as gorgeous as they are edible. In fact you may find yourself saying, “this looks too pretty to eat!” And they are, but they are also incredibly delicious! So grab a camera, snap a photo first and then dig in to these special character sweets and holiday cupcakes.

In March, Walt Disney World ® guests were able to go celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a special chocolate cupcake created specifically for the holiday. Meant to look like a Mickey head, the cupcake was iced with green-tinted peppermint buttercream, topped a white chocolate hat, which was also in St. Paddy’s Day green and finished with two round Vanilla wafers dipped in dark chocolate to represent Mickey ears. The St. Patty’s Day cupcake was topped off with a sprinkling of tiny confetti Mickey heads in green and was so impressive we stared at it for a while and considered not eating it but then we decided if it tasted as good as it looked we had to indulge!

Just a week later, Disney ® unveiled another “almost too pretty to eat” cupcake just in time for Easter Sunday. It was a pineapple-coconut cupcake with yellow cake covered in white buttercream, coconut shavings and more confetti Mickey heads sprinkled on top. On the very top of the cupcake sat an adorable pair of bunny ears with a pink polka dot bow tie made of white chocolate.

Look out for more holiday treats later this year for Halloween and Christmas, but it doesn’t have to be a holiday to see some special treats. At New Fantasyland and Main Street USA, you can find beautiful character candied apples, rice krispies treats, and chocolates galore.

And don’t forget the seasons, Hollywood Studios ® has created a special springtime cupcake that is gorgeous and oh-so delicious. It’s the Lemon Meringue Cupcake and it offers the perfect blend of sweet and sour for those who like to surprise your taste buds. The Lemon Meringue Cupcake is made of yellow cake with a frothy toasted marshmallow frosting. Sprinkled on top of the frosting are colorful pieces of shaved chocolate that make you happy just by looking at them! And as if that wasn’t sweet enough, once you bite into the cupcake, you’ll be surprised with a sweet and sour lemon curd that adds a moist and flavorful center to the already delicious confection.

What will Hollywood Studios ® pastry chefs come up with for the next holiday? Should we expect specialty cupcakes on Memorial Day, or 4th of July? We hope so because we can’t wait to see, and then sink our teeth into the next one!
