Theme Park News

Every year beginning at the end of September, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay turns from a family-friendly animal and roller coaster park into a house of horrors during its annual Howl-O-Scream. And this year you won’t believe what kind of terror lurks in the dark. In celebration of their 13th year scaring, Busch Gardens’ Howl-O-Scream will be even more evil than you can imagine, and as always there’s no place to run!

Evil will come out to play beginning Friday Sept. 27 and running through Saturday, October 26 at this year’s Howl-O-Scream. For 13 years, the Tampa Bay theme park has pulled out all of the scares to ensure a chilling night for its guests but this year’s scarefest will truly put the scream in Howl-O-Scream. That’s because Howl-O-Scream is unleashing thirteen evils on unsuspecting guests including #1 The Possessed, #2 The Torturer, #3 The Hunter, #4 The Butcher, #5 The Banshee, #6 Voodoo Queen, #7 The Surgeon, #8 The Demon, #9 The Zombie, #10 The Cannibal, #11 The Psychopath, #12 The Hangman and #13 the Clown.

These 13 evils will collect your screams and your souls at the park’s eight haunted houses as well as in the shadows of the streets. Death Water Bayou will bring you face-to-face with the Voodoo Queen who’s trying to cast an evil spell on you. The Basement haunted house will unveil a chilling family secret and you’ll find yourself running for your life from Momma and #4 The Butcher! Get scared by a crazed clown in Circus of Superstition 3D as the #13 clown challenges you to survive 13 superstitions. Escape the criminally insane serial killer “The Creature” in Blood Asylum. Find your way out of Edgar Allen Poe’s scariest short story as beating hearts, swinging pendulums and a raven’s cries consume your every move in Nevermore. The #9 Zombie will infest a small town funeral home and feed on you as you try to escape their death grasps. Werewolves have taken over the Ultimate Gamble Casino and they’re betting you won’t escape this one! Endure psychological tests and fear-inducing elements and see how long you can last in The Experiment.

If you get out of any of the haunted houses alive beware of the scare zones like The 13 where you’ll encounter the rest of the 13 evils; The Harvester’s Haunt, where a hoard of sadistic scarecrows look to harvest lost souls and Pain Lane, where the tormented line the street as the #2 torturer and #12 Hangman stalk their prey.

If you need a break from all of the evils you can still ride some of Busch Gardens most thrilling rides like Cheetah Hunt, Montu, Sheikra, Gwazi and Kumba.
