Transformers: The Ride 3D may have coaster enthusiasts flocking to Universal Studios for an action packed thrill ride but it’s not the only new ride at the Orlando theme park that’s getting attention from guests. Kang and Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl at the “The Simpsons” new Springfield area is also causing quit a stir, literally amongst both Simpsons fans and coaster riders.
Kang and Kudos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl is just as it sounds, a fun-filled ride that will take daring guests on a spinning adventure with Kang and Kudos, the aliens from “The SImpsons.” The attraction begins in the queue, which is located on the waterfront. As you get closer to the ride there is an awning with TVs playing Kang and Kudos clips from “The Simpsons.” Here is where you can also see what kind of spinning fun you’re about to get into as you stand directly in front of the ride. The architecture of the attraction is really quite cool to look at. Featuring a one-eyed drooling alien with long tentacles that wrap around the flying saucer ride vehicles the structure is full of things to look at including bright colors and different patterns.
Once you board the flying saucer vehicles the fun really starts. You’ll not only enjoy a spinning good time but you’ll get the chance to hit targets that interact with the ride. The flying saucer vehicles will elevate and lower as you use the space guns inside your vehicle to try and hit the targets, which are located on the alien’s long yellow tentacles. The targets include photos of famous Simpsons characters. When you successfully hit a target you’ll be treated to hilarious phrases and statements from the characters.
While the ride itself may make you a little dizzy it isn’t intended to actually make you hurl! In fact, it’s a great ride for toddlers and the entire family to enjoy. After you’ve spun your way through the Simpsons characters and shot down every character make sure you check out the rest of the Simpsons new Springfield area.
While Kang and Kodos’ Twirl ‘n ‘ Hurl is the only new ride in the area, there are plenty of other things to enjoy like famous restaurants and watering holes from “The Simpsons” including Moe’s Tavern, Luigi’s Pizza, The Frying Dutchman, Lisa’s Teahouse of Horror Duff’s Beer, Bumblebee Man’s Taco Truck, Lard Lad Doughnuts, Krusty Burger and more. There is also the famous Kwik-E-Mart convenient store and plenty of Simpsons characters and memorabilia to snap photos of.
