The Mardi Gras celebration at Universal’s CityWalk is easily one of the most exciting events Universal Orlando puts on each year. From dazzling parades to star studded concerts, authentic Cajun food and much more it is no surprise why guests flock to the Orlando theme park every February. But just like any big event navigating Universal’s Mardi Gras can be tricky so Orlando Fun Tickets has put together our top tips to ensure you get the most out of the Big Easy.
Don’t miss the concert additions – Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras event always has a great lineup of musicians to rock out too and this year is no different with 20 of music’s biggest names live in concert on the Universal Music Plaza stage. The grand celebration will kick off with Daughtry on Feb. 8 followed by Barenaked Ladies on Feb. 15 and ending with The Wanted on May 10.
Get to the Concerts early – If you plan on seeing any of Mardi Gras’ many concerts make sure you get to the Music Plaza Stage early. Front row seats are claimed very early, like 2 – 3 hours before the performance so make sure you head that way with enough time so ensure you get the seats you want. If you want to enjoy the concert and the parks but don’t feel like getting to the stage 2 – 3 hours early there is no spot that is really that far away from the stage, even by Monster Café so if front row seats aren’t a priority don’t sweat it.
Parade Tips – There are so many great artists that hit the Music Plaza Stage that you can almost always find a good spot for the Mardi Gras parade. We suggest snagging a place by the start near the Makeup show or at the end by the new Starbucks!
Food tips - Part of the fun of Mardi Gras is the delicious food you get to experience and at Universal’s Mardi Gras Celebration you’ll be transported to the Streets of the Big Easy with authentic Cajun cuisine like Jambalaya, Creole Gumbo, Andouille Sausage, Red Beans & Rice and the always popular beignets. Orlando Fun Tickets’ tip for Universal’s Mardi Gras food is to simply make sure you try it all, especially the beignets! You won’t be disappointed.
Afterwards – Sometimes the best part about an event is its after-party. While it may not seem like the night could get any more exciting, Universal’s Mardi Gras guests are invited to stick around CityWalk and check out the entertainment venue’s many new restaurants like the new Mexican restaurant Antojitos and Red Oven Pizza Bakery.
If you want to couple your Mardi Gras celebration with some thrilling fun at Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure you can always find discounted tickets to both Orlando theme parks right here on Orlando Fun Tickets.
