Inside the Ride

OFT_L_Mexico_Pavilion_11-11-13

Much like the rest of Epcot’s pavilions at Walt Disney World ® the Mexico pavilion will transport guests to the Latino country with unique architecture, Mexican shopping, authentic food and even volcanoes that light up the twilight sky. It just may be the closest you’ll get to Mexico without leaving Florida!

Upon entering the Mexican pavilion you’ll instantly be greeted by a pre-Colombian pyramid surrounded by lush landscape that was created to look like a Yucatan jungle. As guests enter the Plaza de Los Amigos you may notice its darkened interior. It’s always twilight in Mexico, which makes marveling at the smoking volcano and the grand Mayan pyramid that much more magical.

The sidewalks are lined with carts and shops offering Mexican jewelry, Kahlua, pottery, clothing and leather goods. There is often a strolling mariachi band that serenades you as you shop.

Aside from it’s incredible architecture, shopping and mariachi bands, the Mexico Pavilion at Epcot ® will also take guests on a fun-filled journey through the country with the attraction Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros. This unique ride will let you take in the sights of Mexico while watching the antics of three feathered friends on a gentle boat ride through the pavilion. Gran Fiesta Tour features Donald Duck, Jose Carioca and Panchito from Disney’s 1944 animated film, The Three Caballeros.” In Gran Fiesta Tour Donald disappears en route to the Three Caballeros performance in Mexico City. His friends go off in search of their pal and what ensues is a silly adventure through the city where you’ll learn more about Mexico and its people.

Delicious dining makes up the rest of the Mexico pavilion. Guests can enjoy traditional Mexican fare at such restaurants as La Hacienda de San Angel, the San Angel Inn Restaurant, La Cantina de San Angel and La Cava del Tequila. Each restaurant varies in cuisine but all offer exceptional Mexican foods that are sure to make you come back again and again.
